AMOONLESSNIGHT'S PROFILE
AMoonlessNight
284
Hi all, I'm A-Moonless-Night, but you can call me Shannyn.
The name 'A Moonless Night' comes from the title of a story my cousin and I wrote together when we were about fifteen. It was about two cousins getting lost in the woods on the night of a full moon. Werewolf shenanigans ensued. No idea where an actual moonless night factored into the equation though. Well, the name stuck and it has been my username for every website I've frequented for the last five or six years.
About me? Well, I'm from little old Godzone in the southern hemisphere. I love reading and writing, with a particular love for Stephen King novels and poetry. I'm an avid proofreader - seriously, I love it. I foam at the mouth about it.
I don't like MMORPGs or first-person shooters. I particularly love platformers (especially Metroidvanias), RPGs, action games and point-and-click adventures. Some of my favourite games include Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, the Tenchu series, Suikoden I and II, the Chzo Mythos (aka the John Defoe Quadrilogy), Minecraft, Age Of Empires, An Untitled Story and the Pokemon series.

Yep, good spotting! :) Vermilion only takes place in Elowyn, but perhaps in the future I'll explore other parts of the continent in other media.

I would rewrite this as, "I cannot—-nay, I will not—-go back." The "nay, I will not" is interrupting her original thought, which is "I cannot go back". Those double hyphens are supposed to be em-dashes, but I can't type them here.
Otherwise, looking good. Is this kind of Dark Cloud-inspired?

Weapons and Battles
Originally I was just going to have one weapon per character, but I'm leaning toward this idea. I'll have to update the characters page.
You're right; the weapon types will be different in the way that you described. I'm sussing out the exact logistics of that at the moment. I've always liked the idea of 'sacrifice' when it comes to equipment; e.g. you get more strength, but lose some speed, or something like that. I guess that also works with the characters: this character gets the heavier, stronger weapon because I'm making them a tank, and this character gets the lighter, faster weapons so they attack first. Something like that.
I think of Blunt Melee as being blunt weapons that don't cause significant damage and are quick, like sticks and rods, and Trauma weapons being the stuff you really don't want to be hit with, like axes and hammers. Trauma weapons will deal the most damage and have the highest critical.
I'm going with a 'weapons get better the more you use them' style rather than 'weapons get better because I went to the next town'. Does that make sense?

Characters
Hey, thanks dude. I have a writing background and have been making up characters since I was born, so I think that kind of helps. I sort of go by instinct rather than what's popular. And yeah, these guys haunt me ... lots of thought has gone into them. :)
Like I said earlier, I didn't really set out to make role reversals, but I agree with you about the 100% role reversal and 100% stereotypes thing. I think too much role reversal is a bit jarring. I always lean towards female main characters though.

This is actually terrifying. For some reason it reminds me of the first time Missingno appeared for me on Pokemon Blue.
