This is a special contest though because not only is it a contest, its a try out! RPG Maker VX Ace needs a new promo video, for obvious reasons (seriously go back one blog post and try to watch that thing all the way through), so we are looking to you the fans to find the person to make one.
So how are we going to make this selection? With a contest.
What do you get out of it? A free copy of RPG Maker VX Ace + early release.
What are your responsibilities if you win? Create a new promo video for RPG Maker VX Ace using your new free copy.
So what’s this contest about? Trailers. Video game trailers to be exact. Here are the rules:
Produce a ~1:30 second ad spot for your game and upload it to Youtube. Email the link to the trailer to community@rpgmakerweb.com with the title line of “Hit the High (Ad) Spots Entry”.
The trailer is to be for an RPG Maker XP or RPG Maker VX project.
The trailer may not contain any resource that you do not have the rights to use.
The trailer may be for a project you have made in the past, are in the process of making now, are going to make in the future, or even a project you never intend to make at all.
The trailer can have already been made before the contest began, just make sure that it obeys all the other rules.
All entries must be emailed by 11:59 PM January 22nd EST (GMT-5).
Need some tips? I asked a friend of mine who happens to be a film student and this was his advice:
-Show, don’t tell: A trailer is PURELY VISUAL so there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to back-up your claims
-Make sure it has good flow: You never want some JARRING TRAILER that is just hard to watch
-Style: Since all RM games generally look the same you need something to differentiate your trailer from everyone elses. That’s where style comes in.

Internet Blacklisting, Save the Internet!
I heard america has this Internet Blacklist Legislation to the point even mozilla put in their front page about going against it. They said Your favorite websites both inside and outside the US could be blocked based on an infringement claim and stuff like that.
So does that mean TPB would be blocked in the USA? A talk in the IRC:

Premade System/Menu Packs ?
Okay, I'm trying to make some money for college and I can't afford books or whatever with just commission money--because it's very shaky on my side. And another reason is because of time issues and that I'm a full time student. This in turn makes it very hard for me to have time to find a decent work here in the Philippines where it does NOT require me to be a college graduate or spend so many hours for little pay.
SO! I wanted to ask if would anyone be interested in buying a menu system with custom graphics for their game(s).

We will also do battle systems and deal with compatibilities. This could be a special commission for your game only or buy a pre-made pack we already made for bidding/license/whatever. Input would be really nice. If many are interested, I was thinking of making it a one time sale only, like for example, bidding or using a license? That price includes the code, so that does drive up the price a bit, something around 40-60 for the special commissioned ones? We will also do battle systems and deal with compatibilities.

RPGMaker Issues
I was wondering if anyone has the same experience as I did for this one. I suddenly had this power blackout and my pc didn't hibernate properly. But it was well, the thing is, my rpgmaker(s) suddenly stopped playing mp3 music files but here's what's weird:
One time I was playing an old game of mine in 2k3, it uses mp3s and works fine, but when I tried to play it in the BGM player from 2k3, it stopped playing. And when I played the game again, it suddenly screamed not implemented. I also reinstalled 2k3.
And I noticed the same thing happened to RMVX as well, so weird. I'm using Klite Codec. Some mp3s play fine tho.
Another issue I have is that copy pasting words from my ms word causes VX not to print the message. Even if it's just a one liner sentence. I even tried posting it in notepad and browser preview for whatever reason but it just won't work. And yet, copy pasting from this site: http://www.lipsum.com/feed/html works well. RPGMAKER I DON'T GET YOU.
I found out the problem for this one after 15 minutes of trying it out and posting here and one last attempt. Quotation Marks <_<

Last Saturday, I was called over by my auntie to work help her with the preparations for her son's b-day party. And well, we were supposed to sleep at 1:30 am after taking a break and watching a movie but I stayed up all day with an energy drink around working on database stuff (don't ask.)
Then at 6 am I went ahead and grabbed this energy drink called "V" and cooked, whenever I get sleepy I drink from that can again. I think around 4x then after everything is prepared, I went to sleep for like the entire afternoon, missng the birthday song and stuff.
Afterwards, this is where it got...weird...
I constantly found myself sleeping and yawning. Like I went to sleep at 11 pm then wake up 10 am and a few hrs later , usually 2-3 hrs ish, I'm sleepy again and when I fight against it I yawn excessively and then collapse later on and wake up at 2-3 pm. This has been happening for like half a week now, yesterday I managed to stay up late because of school bullying issues then slept early and woke up at 10 am. Again I'm very sleepy today, I checked the internet and I'm not really sure what I'm looking for.

If you have a chance to have another RTP...
This has been bugging my mind but if there's ever going to be a new RTP presented by Enterbrain or someone or by something, what kind resources would you like to have this time and for what maker? Would you like it to have some proper tracks for it or will you just rush and get the commercialized of freeware ones?
To be honest, I'd like to see more steampunk or modern tiles and graphics since they feel lacking haha.
