You didn't get what I said! I'm not saying it's good or right to be racist. What I'm saying is that "racism" is a very loose term and that's not necessarily inherently wrong. I myself consider taking race/ethnicity into account when doing anything is racist (not being racially "colorblind.") I consider even voting for Obama because you are African American to be racist.

This is a quote from Obama:

Obama admits that his grandmother was racist, but she still loved him dearly. Her racism wasn't "wrong," it was probably just part of the way she was brought up.

Also just saying "no you're not right" isn't a valid argument. I've had to face a shit-ton of racism in my life because I'm Chinese and I'm sick and fucking tired of it.

Arguing in itself isn't a "mean" thing to do. I post here specifically to discuss and argue my points. Otherwise I'd just stay at GW. (Smaller community is better for discussion.)

Anyways, my history class was discussing Prop 4 of California today. If you don't know what that is, it's the proposition about abortion. If it were pass, it would mean that doctors would have to notify the girl's parents. If it it didn't pass (which it didn't), then doctors would not have to notify the girl's parents.

So my teacher said that his personal opinion was that such a subject should not even be legislated. This means that it's the girl's choice, but the fact that they should be forced into telling their parents shouldn't even be taken into account. He didn't mean this as that he was against Prop 4, though. He considers this as part of the "breaking down" of the family unit and societal moral values. (Which Blitzen mentioned.) He says this because this is part of a "family thing" and that there should be some sort of communication about this thing between the parents and daughter. But, the "family unit" is breaking down, and something has changed among the past decade or so, which has caused many of the younger generation to simply stop or avoid communication with their parents. (I even notice this in myself)...

What do you guys think? (especially Blitzen.)
