There does not need to be a reason beyond maguffins. "Thing there, go get," has been a tried and true videro game plot for decades.

True, though following Unity's suggested plans here would not be a bad idea; I only meant, "maybe there's something in the info we can use to help drive the party between points, so we don't have to rely so much on MacGuffins..."

author=LibertyPretty sure that's me... :( Anyway, not meaning to create more work no, we don't need that. However, I noted that the FFIII remake is said to have used its characters' back stories to "Accelerate the plot". In a way we've been using bits of character back story to help us figure out where they go: Hitori, who hails from another dimension,was planned to appear in the Quartz Quarry, while Blaize, who uses fire, was to appear on Mount Arazia,possibly there in an attempt to conquer his fears of said element. Similarly, having Blaize in the pary might encourage fellow Fire-user Weylan to join, or Weylan might join the party to rescue his acquaintance Blaize from Arazia before it erupts.
Or not and leave it as it was supposed to be so that interfering fingers don't. :/
The person who caused the stress was probably the one who sent a shit ton of PMs to her over a very short period. They know who they are.

]I understand but am disappointing, though I'll admit i haven't been a huge or reliable contributor. I sincerely hope I wasn't the discouraging factor. I would love dialogue work.
author=LockeZWell, one idea is to rejigger that somewhat, shifting the emphasis towards characters and their quests.
NTC3, there was never supposed to really be any story attached to the characters. 90% of their dialogue was already written by the people who created them in the original thread.

Voice Actors/Actoress Request
Some of the roles look interesting, but could we have a bit more detail about the roles, so we have an idea who we're playing and how we're to play them?? It doesn't have to be complex, just a general overview.
For example:
"Benjamin; the hero of our story. 17. Idealistic and strong-willed; hates to see others mistreated. Deep voice."
"Emmeline: Benjamin's mother, a former actress. 'High class' voice and theatrical manner."
"Bowen, the town drunk. Slurred, indistinct speech."

Dimensions of 2 or 3?
BOFIII mixed a 3d environment with 2d sprites and enemies which actually worked quite well, so that's an option for future games. As for your current 3d Assets, why not use them to make opening and ending movies? No sense letting them go to waste... Also I may well do that song even if you don't use i t:p
