What are you currently reading?

I read three novels.

Kokoro by Soseki
No Longer Human by Dazai
Twenty-four Eyes by Tsuboi

I really liked all of them. Kokoro had a strange style. Not in the modern sense of strange though.

Uh? Do you guys listen to music?

I skimmed what most people said. Music topics are nice, but it seems more fun to write one's own music likes that listening to everyone else's. I'll try to make mine short, probably fail, and then check out some music recommendations from you guys.

I've always been into punk, but as I get older I listen to more genres.

For rap I like P.O.S.. My favourite song of his is "De La Souls". The lead singer from the Bouncing Souls does the chorus. Check it out if you want to, it's on youtube.

pop/punk always leads to two albums: My Brain Hurts by Screeching Weasel and that album by the Ergs! which name I always forget. Dorkcorkrockchord? Something like that. Best pop/punk song in my opinion is The Ergs! "Pray for Rain". It's best listened with the track before is as an introduction to it.

For more intense stuff, I'm really digging Dangers' first album. Power Chord Blues is a great hardcore song.

For Japanese stuff I listen to fairly mainstream pop/punk mainly. Mongol800 and Blue Hearts are great. While mainstream, both groups aren't really inside the industry.

My favourite song of all time is by a shitty band called the Broadways. The song is called "Restless".

I'll end with a youtube video from a band I didn't mention who plays folk music. The song is called "The Best Ever Death Metal Band out of Denton". Excuse the graphic. I know it's lame.

Console War

I like the topic of consoles wars. Or I can like the topic. Lame people are lame, but the topic itself isn't lame.

I think my favourite right now is the PS3. I use it for many many things. The main thing would be music for my living room. Then as a blu-ray player. Then of course there's games for it (which are not region locked). Viewing photos on it is really easy, smooth and fun. The Internet kind of sucks, but good enough to go to youtube if you really want to show your friends something. My wife probably uses it more than me for Torne, which makes it a TV recorder. We make full use of the 250gig hard drive.

I only use my Wii when I have friends over. When they're over, it's always a blast. Just had a little Wii Sports Resort Canoeing party the other day and it rocked. When there's no friends, I sometimes dabble into the gray area of home brew to play all those SNES games I've left at my parents house in Canada.

How old were you when you first used RM?

I was 15 back in 1999 with rpgmaker95. I made games that were Wild ARMS rip offs.

I haven't used rpgmaker in a long time, but I can't get away from what holbert creates for some reason.

Whatchu Playin': Big Boy Screenshot Topic

I'm playing Ni no Kuni. I went to my bedroom, opened up my DS and took a picture of it.

Then, I took out my inconvenient spell book, and opened it to the page of the first spell you have to cast.

What are you jammin' too?

I was pumping Lucero just now. It's gone now.

Show and tell us your city/town/village/hamlet/whereever you live!

I live in a city 60 minutes out of Tokyo and 10 minutes out of Chiba. We have factories on our coast. A train station where youthful ruffians like to gather. Fragment sentences out the wazoo.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I just got Ni no Kuni as a birthday present.

I just beat the fourth Layton, so now I'm playing that.

I love me some Level 5.

New Year's Resolutions

I want to take and pass Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

I want to finally get a driver's licence.

I want to finally finish reading the Brothers Karamazov, and finish the Little Prince in Japanese.

So about this Wikileaks thing...What do you think?

Kevin Rudd's response was good to the whole situation. Something along the lines of American (and Australian) action in Iraq and Afghanistan directly causes tens of thousands of deaths, and Wikileaks actions potentially maybe possibly could cause someone to die makes it the worst thing in the world.

The New York Times had a fun article about how the world is laughing at America for thinking it's the pinnacle of democracy and free speech after scrambling. Putin had a few choice words. Hillary Clinton made a speech about the whole Google and China scandal last year that's really fun to read in the context of Wikileaks.

You know something is fucked up when you agree with Ron Paul, but this is one of those situations I guess.
