avatars

I'm posting to see what my avatar is.

I'm also not a fan of changing avatars often. I think mine is a Chinese Telephone album cover. I like avatars that are distinct from other avatars. Usually the person's personality take over the avatar anyways, so it almost doesn't matter what it is.

Would rather people define themselves by what they say, not their avatar.

3DS.

Wow, a lot of 3DS hate.

In Japanland, I'll picking one up for Layton when I have the 30,000 yen lying around. Also thinking of waiting in case a newer version comes out with a longer battery life.

Complaining about OoT seems dumb because you know there's about a millions of people who're happy as all hell that they're putting it on the 3DS. Seems like a smart move. I won't buy it as well.

I remember DragonShadow! That's fucked up.

I was a minor character at Nexus, you probably don't remember me.

Good times though. People shouldn't change their names.

Earthquake in Japan

It's getting a lot of attention because it's the biggest earthquake ever in Japan, the tsunami destruction, the nuclear threat and that it's all happening to a first-world country (which people can relate to more). When comparing the amount of attention giving to events, it's best to not complain that one is getting too much, but try and let other events get attention (in relevant topics).

The nuclear stuff is playing out like a long bad movie, and I want to be in the south of Japan for it. Hopefully hopping on a plane tomorrow.

Earthquake in Japan

Thanks holbert. I live in the city where there was huge explosions, but I couldn't get back that day, and it didn't affect where I live. The affected area was evacuated for a night just in case, but everything is now back to normal.

Only problem we face is probable big aftershocks. Gotta get on with life despite knowing they will come.

Earthquake in Japan

That was scary, and I am safe.

Couldn't get home Friday though, but a minor inconvenience comparably speaking.

Has anyone here played "Catherine", yet? *spoilers*

Played the demo. Loved it. Puzzles are really fun, the text messaging thing seems kind of cool, and the sexiness isn't done in a lame way (pay attention other games).

Good times.

日本語トピック

Perhaps there's different ways of classification. I've learned that there's two types of adjectives, い-adjectives and な-adjectives. 好き and 嫌い I've learned as both な-adjectives (and when referred to in Japanese, 形容詞 not 名詞). な-adjectives are conjugated differently than normal nouns, but also from い-adjectives, so I guess they could be classified as in between.

日本語トピック

I knew it'd pay off to continue to lurk here!

I'm starting graduate school in Tokyo in Japanese in April. The Japanese requirement was N2, but preparing at the university and meeting other students, it doesn't seem like enough. I'll take N1 this December hopefully.

Also, pretty sure 'like' and 'hate' are adjectives in Japanese, not nouns. I think there is a verb for like: "好む" (ã"のむ), but it's used less than the adjective.
