[Poll] When Playing Indie RPGs, What Game-Length Do You Look For?

My problem is, I am hoarder. I have this huge pile of games all over my Steam library, RPG folder, my room. And they are great games and I've never played them. I'm too lazy to download them, knowing I would probably spend hours in them. I know I would enjoy it. I'm just so idle kind of person. I was convincing myself for two days before plaing Pizza's Carpan.
So that kinda is why I am more likely to download shorter game (the shorter the better), but It doesn't mean I don't like long epic adventures. I am crazy for them. I just hasitate to start plaing em.

Usually I add invisible NPC barricades to halt that, but in a map like that one it could be a waste of event squares.
Uh, you can just apply the Forbid Event Overlap condition to any preexisting event (say, one that was already there for gameplay reasons).

I assume in a map of that size you simply wouldn't have randomly moving NPCs. They would offer no benefit to a map that has ever tile and event carefully placed.

I don't plan on having them.

Engine Tips, Tricks and Bits (of information)

One I found out myself recently (after year of usage):
There are variables in RM.

@LockeZ
You have the truth in both cases. I've already removed inversed entrance.
Reason for the house being strange is parlty limitation I chose and partly tileset itself. I changed it to something more reliable though.

@NeverSilent:
I know about this one, It just doesn't seem nice. It's too thick in comparsion to the proportions of the map.

I also noticed that shadows in cave got broken as they should cover whole area (except surroundings of torchlights) and make it darker.

My attemp on single-screen rpg (so this is the only map).

@Pizza:
It's my personal pic of the moment. So much love for Twin Peaks feel.

~Mmm.~

Our tea PEEEEEE!

It's amazing what two overlays and a Google image background can do to a map. Music track is FF7's Cosmo Canyon.

Still @Liberty has the truth. It does look more like flying isle or something. It needs wooden structure.

@Pizza. What everyone else said.

Seems I only excel at making things look pretty. ;_;

Journal looks fantastic!

What are you thinking about right now?

There are some more words I can think of:

Chronicles
Book(s)
Hero(es)
Return
Last
Lost
Saga
War
World
Fate
Dark

And then there are these names BizzMonkey uses. They annoy me 'coz I don't even know what they mean.

An RPG Maker equivelent to Hyperdimension Neptunia

You need to include Sim 95 as wierdo cusin. She would livin on the tree in the middle of wilderness and behave improp all the time.
The Mighty Custom engine is obvious final boss.

Level of exploration: Examine everything!

Minimalistic design is the way. Don't put any objects to examine in your game. In the end, You will be praised for doing so.

Otherwise I liked Dragon Age's aproach in Origins. It was just the right amount. @Feldschlacht has the truth with this one. And codex was managed superbly in general.
