Me likes that map a lot Feld, except for what ppl commented and some towers feeling a bit ramdom :P Overall, impressive castle/fortress.
Which of the 7 deadly sins do you most relate with?
Damn pride all the way, just as Mog. In fact I sacrifice a lot of things for pride sometimes.
Sloth used to be a biggy, but I have been overcoming it with stregth =^.^=

Sephiroth in a whole new light, homeslices. *Also Discussion topic, see inside*
Never found a bug in the game O.o
Another plus is that it has in map battles like Chrono Trigger ;) And the mechanic chick was cute :D

GRS said something important (which I always say in topics about characters). It is funny how characters hardly interact between thenselves or how everything seems to be centered around main character.
An interesting game which breaks that IMO is Septerra Core, where you have characters talking to each other and you can chose who talks to an NPCs and npcs react different to each character. (try to get info on the docks with a poor sailor using the nuble woman, it is damn funny, she expects him to reply nicely while she treats him like shit, then if you use a more regular character the guy might say something :P).

RPG Mechanics II : Unique Action Command Theory
While I am not a total challenge obssessive, I do like some challenge and I agree that limit breaks are broken, but I also don´t like having then as the only unique thing for characters.
But a fact is that games nowadays, at least in normal route become easier and easier, which bothers me since most of the hard modes have no interesting objective/plot for me to uncover. So I either play the regular game with no challenge or I play a challenging secret mode with no (or the same) story I already played.

Alco, in FFV you din´t have spare party members to exchange :P
As for unlimited, the point is that when you level materia, whoever uses it will gain the benefit. Magicite not just require you to level up the magicite, but you had to level up the magicite WITH the character so it gave stats boost and skills accordingly.

Challenging the Standards
Yeah, we sure are different players and have different views on things.
Now, care to name some of those adventures? All the adventures I remember playing were side view scrollers with not as much interaction as I would find in an ideal RPG setting.
Regarding statistics, it is something that almost every game has either, even if hidden sometimes. Tactical games are the best example and they aren´t RPGs.
As for Suikoden: Only played 1 and 2 and theither of then start slow, two specially starts during an attack from where you get to fight your way out. But indeed it is not top challenge unless you keep very under level. That and the destiny stuff are probable reasons of why it is not in my top 3 list (which is Phantasy Star IV, Chrono Trigger and FF6).
But this whole "sit and watch" thing from newer games is not my thing really. I like cutscenes as in the top 3 games I mentioned.

LOL the only interesting chick in the game dies so I was left with the two swearing dudes and the dog (best character there). But yeah, me agrees with you Kentona.
