My first game was about a schoolboy named Plank who died and went to another world. There weren't any battles, just random talking to people.
I had never played an RPG before, only adventure games and Lemmings, so I had no idea what I was doing with RPGMaker. =P

Just don't turn it into a contest. Maybe projects (or files) that are released for an RS! are displayed as a second main page "random screenshot" advertisment? I think a special spotlight for people who take the time to be part of this would highly appreciate the attention.

Ocean: I remember finding all sorts of TIME CRYSTALS or whatever in all of your clocks to make spells in your game. That made me so, so, SO happy.

Anyway, sorta-kinda going along with consistency theme: I hate it when people try to introduce exceptions really, really early. The manual or the intro or some NPC has you believe that ALL CLOCKS HAVE ELIXERS IN THEM (just a random example; I'm not actually going to talk about FF6 (<3)). A good way to play with this is to have this be true for the first 50% of the game, and then have one single clock that is like HAHAHA MONSTER ATTACK SUPERCLOCKBOSS LOL. A bad way to play with this is to have the second clock in the game have a potion, or the fourth clock to have HAHAHA MONSTER ATTACK SUPERCLOCKBOSS LOL.
I've been thinking about this a lot recently for some reason, and realized how much it pisses me off.
CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY TO GOOD LIVING.
