Hey, you're doing this on your free time, it's not like it's your job or anything like that. Shit happens, we all know that. You focus on what's necessary for now, we understand.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y - the 6th generation confirmed!

After adding a ton of people I don't know from anywhere to my friends list I finally have a friend safari with Dittos. Now I can finally open my own whorehouse and start breeding.

For my first breeding project, I'm thinking either a slow sword or an undecided frog.

Pokémon RMN Version

I was thinking about touching up Felinger's design and actually getting to design its preevo Quanten, but Felinger kinda relies on its unique ability to work (well, not so unique now that Mega Kangaskhan exists), and I can see that being hard to implement.

Maybe I'll come up with something else.

Added.

Also, I ended up naming my Lucario Logan. Considering where I think its Steel type comes from, I'd say it's fitting. (Consider how Lucario learns Bone Rush by level up despite not carrying any bones. The hand and chest spikes are exposed bone. Lucario's bones are made of metal.)

How about naming your Lucario Anubis?

One of the first names I thought of, but I thought maybe it was a bit too obvious. If I can't figure out anything else I'm probably going with that, though. So far I have Jiraiya the Greninja, Tesla the Pikachu, Diva the Gardevoir, Frederick the Charizard, and Durandal the Doublade.

Also, I see you have already added me. Nice!

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y - the 6th generation confirmed!

I have my Exp Share turned off most of the time. I only turn it on at times where I'm expected to only use a small part of my team (gyms, for example) or when I find myself lagging behind the trainers in the area. It was meant to let you cycle through members of your team without having to stop to grind, but after you settle on a certain team it just gives you too much exp.

Have been playing in short bursts, so I haven't beat the game yet. I'm at 5 badges right now. Also trying to figure out a cool nickname for a Lucario so I can have all of my team nicknamed.

By the way, my code's 3368-2137-3269. I'll be adding all of you now.

Mighty No. 9 - Kenji Infune's new Megaman

I'd like a proper closure for MMZ :<

That's the one that got the closest to having closure. I'm still angry about the Guardians' fate being retconned because stupid, but at least it got an ending.

Now MMX, that one left us on a cliffhanger. Sigma's deader than dead, the New Generation Reploids are in a position for wide scale rebellion, and I'd like to know just what the hell happened to Axl.

What are you thinking about right now?

It is just a demo of the boss, right? Because good boss shouldn't be with just one stage/attack pattern and can't be defeated this easily. Anyway, looks like you have a good potential with this one. :)

Yeah, of course! I'm not even all the way through the tutorial yet. I'm just making stuff as I learn new stuff. That's just one of many attack patterns, one I did to put into practice what I learned about using bullet IDs and settting behaviors to alter the movement of the bullets after firing them. (In this case, making them back up a bit then explode.) As the title indicates, it's my third.

Second one, while pretty, will either result in obvious blindspots or sections that are impossible to dodge, depending on how I set the rotation variables, so I didn't bother uploading it. It was a total failure. First one, I was pretty much following instructions, so I can't really take credit for it, but it's here:

When I'm done learning the functions I need (including draw functions so you can actually see what you're shooting at), I'm gonna put together a bunch of patterns to make a proper boss fight. which will likely include soem variation of my third pattern. Right now, I'm just messing around. It's a good thing this engine lets me load individual patterns. Makes playtesting less of a pain in the ass.

EDIT: You know what, screw that! I took a few minutes to take my second pattern and make something decent out of it. Recycled the bullet generation code, tweaked some variables, added some randomness... It doesn't really look like its older brother now, other than the fact that it fires in circular patterns. Still nowhere near as good as the third, but at least now it's neither trivial nor impossible.

What are you thinking about right now?

So, with me designing Mr. Red and thinking up his game, I came to a realization. I can't make bullet hell without first learning how to make bullet hell. So i picked up Touhou Danmakufu, got it to work, founda nice and thorough tutorial, and I'm currently going through it.

At the end of the section I just finished, there was a practical exercise that was basically "do whatever the fuck you want, as long as you use the functions you just learned". So I did. Had to look up documentation on the wiki because I couldn't quite figure out the AddShot function. Eventually I came up with this:

I'm starting to think I might have a knack for this. I'm actually proud of this pattern.

Oh, and I know it's a bit confusing, but the boss is really there in the center. It's just that I haven't learned the draw functions yet, so it's nothing but hitboxes right now.

Random Art Topic

So, I shaded Mr. Red. Experimented with a bunch of stuff, including a weird mix of cel shading and blurs that I feel I fucked up. Still, now I know what not to do next time I feel like doing something like this, so it was a good learning experience.

As I said before, I'm nowhere near satisfied with the design right now, but I feel I'm going in a good direction wit this. Iterate, iterate, iterate. Then when I'm satisfied I'll submit this poor guy to all kinds of bullet hell.
