On the Worship of Vaporware
I play many games and I don't need anyone to point me to specific titles. My point still stands, that full and well-made RM games are rare. It doesn't make the community any worse, and doesn't diminish the worth of demos. Every time someone releases a good demo, I'm happy, even if the game gets cancelled. I get lots of fun and inspiration for free, that's good enough for me.
TLS is not an RM game and is nothing more than a glorified hack of a preexisting game.

You tell me to play more games and point me to games with no releases available for download. Are you that daft or just having a hangover?
On the Worship of Vaporware
Only now did I realize that the community mostly consists of old, disillusioned, bitter men. It's no wonder why people don't finish their games, why bother with such an audience? And it's not like they are obliged to any of you to finish what they started, as it's nothing more than a hobby.
How am I supposed to play Chromatose or the Colony, when there are no demos available? Wish them into life? It's like you're proving the very point of this topic, that vaporware is king.

Then you'll have to consider 99% of all RM games vaporware, which would be stupid.
I can count the number of >good< and 100% finished RM games on the fingers of one hand.
I can't say much about the second Chimera Report demo, as I haven't played it, but the first one is between 30 minutes and 1 hour. You're exaggerating, as usual.

I don't know about Chromatose and the Colony (first time I hear about those), but Ascendence got a demo release, and in my book that's good enough for an RM game. At least enough for it to not be considered vaporware. Chimera Report got two demos.
FoA and CG are all dead and buried and I don't recall anyone bringing those up recently.

I hate MMORPGs.
They need grinding/farming because there's no real story or plot line to speak of, and so those are pretty much the only things to do besides socializing. jRPGs are a different kettle of fish, you don't need to have an absurd figure on your "projected game time" sticker (50 hours long! 40 of which are random battles using RPG Maker DBS!), especially amateur games that no one pays for, and thus does not expect a minimum game time for the money he's paid.
But that's just my vision of amateur game design :)

Instead of forcing the player to steal Fire Hides (maybe not forcing, but making it the preferred choice), make the enemies always drop the Fire Hide. This way when you encounter that one specific enemy that drops Fire Hide, you will always get at least 1 Fire Hide. Battles are still random, so you're not guaranteed to encounter that one enemy every time, but it should be a high enough chance.
But I won't lie, item farming was one RPG mechanic that I always loathed. In most games it does nothing except artificially prolong game time. I'd rather find a cool sword by thoroughly searching a dungeon and maybe solving a puzzle or two than simply fighting some more, OK, much more to get the ingredients to create that sword at a store. But I guess it's easier to incorporate item farming/synthesis into the game than cool dungeons.

Once, on my perfect SO2 playthrough, I stole from EVERY NPC in the game. IIRC some of them had really unique stuff. But yes, it was a lot of reloading.
