It's not that hard to make one map. Plus I'd rather have a lot of mediocre maps than having no one participate.

Totally! And I love the idea of "participation only" medals, no judging for this one. I'm still willing to do two rooms, but we're gonna get specific criteria later, right? Like you said I might get "Wine cellar, secret passage, stairs on the left" etc and then embellishment thereafter? Feel free to make my criteria super specific (though maybe only on one room)

As for atmosphere... I'm trying to imagine what kind of overlays I could use. In my own haunted house (in Beyond Eden) I use a lingering miasma that has various concentration levels and lingering horrors within them, but this is an entire house phenomena and probably wouldn't work in one room. I'm struggling with consistency in atmosphere and theme. Are we gonna focus on nightmarish hallucinations? Lovecraft imagery? Ghosts? Magic? Undead? Monsters?
And what of combat? Are we designing mini-games or just exploring? Collecting items without a database (which is easily done with switches) but what of the "menu" system? Any kind of onscreen player recognition? Puzzle solving?

I can do whatever you like/need, but I'd love as much detail as possible on what it is you would like to see in the finished product.
I freaking love haunted houses.

- Switches and Variables named for easy moving.
Why not assign values? Psy gets switches and variables 1-100, demi gets 101-200, etc. Then there won't be any moving.

Alter A.I.L.A. Variant

You've completed the game.
Congratulations, you've unlocked mustache mode.
Looks good, man. Nice backgrounds.

Necropolis Review

This is so absolutely not my type of game. From era, to setting, to structure.
But my god, does it kick ass. This is so damn impressive.
Edit: That is to say it doesn't appeal to me nostalgically, but speaks for itself as far as mechanics. I especially love the monsters. Clever battle system, I typically dislike turn based battles. Looks great, but the review sold me. :-D

Inventory Nightmare

Equipment can be seen in a decently sorted way in the equip menu anyway.

This is a very good point. In this case, might make more sense to just do potions, scrolls, and seeds which are generally just used in chests and shops, and will be easier to track down.

Inventory Nightmare

I went through the same thing with Beyond Eden, so I feel your pain.

You might be able to temporarily change or remove the glyph file until you are sure the problem is done. Using goofy or absent glyphs to track unfixed items.
Or you might get a second instance of the game running in a Cherry engine to test play while you edit the real deal.

It seems like you have less than 200 items. You might want to consider starting your new database wherever you left off. Replace all instances in chests and events as normal and change the names of the original items to something you will recognize as error and during testplay periodically check inventory for missed instances. Yes, it will be tedious. But it's a necessary evil.

Step 6 seems like a huge hassle. If I were you, I'd say "sorry, old saves will no longer work, but it's for the greater good. Rest assured, no more demos, this is the final release, there is enough here to warrant replaying."

I haven't played Forever's End in ages and have been periodically thinking about trying it again. I have no doubt the game has improved since I last played it several years ago though I enjoyed it even then. If you like, I would commit to a thorough bug testing and broken item hunt using whatever method you decide on.

Good luck, Nico!

Doesn't look too bad for 100% RTP

The Mirror Lied Review

I'm usually fairly hard to impress, so, yeah.

Funny, when I saw you gave it 4 1/2 stars, I started downloading it while reading the review.

Looks great. You gotta love the double accessories. I don't think the Harry Potter font sticks out badly.
