that took me 5 mins to write and most of it is her just responding to shoko

So your point is that you post something you just made up and are probably going to change, because why?

Content creation (artistic, 1st archive)

So... could you not have her have repeat out loud everything Shoko says? That gag is old as hell.

This post is where I will probably get most of my information from, but I'm not seeing where Fran's appetite is falling into place? Maybe it's not supposed to be included, but there was this post...

Oh, right! I forgot to mention that part! How was it again? *Flips up a copy of Libris Mortis* Uh, Chapter 1, Undead diet section... There it is, Dream Vestiges have inescapable craving for minds, and when that's done, the now mindless bodies, which they achieve by draining the intellect first, and what is fully drained can be absorbed into the Vestige, which is why the homeworks completely disappear, and not just the text written on the paper. Normally this is done by draining and absorbing an intelligent creature, but we can understand if Fran would rather skip on that and settle for homework and Tsubasa's notes. The entry also notes Dream Vestiges are very capable of eating other undead, so Akari's composer friend and LordNight's ghostly band would probably shit themselves in fear if Fran hung around their turf.

And writing this down gave me an idea! We could have the Player see a book(?) being consumed, text-first, to have him realize there's some magic shit going on. This way we'll hint that Masako is in the right, not Tsubasa.

As a total aside, you guys are sounding like you want to make some kind of hybird of Final Fantasy and Heartache 101....
Hehe, no, not going to happen.

@lordnight that is what is so great about this game it is open to everything supernatural, horror, scifi, and the door for fantasy was opened with akari's route i'm suprised one of the girls hasn't turned out to be an alien yet

honestly, I never expected that it can be accepted...
...I mean me turning Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet~ into a fantasy

Oh, I like what we are getting at.

I do feel somewhat obligated to you, so I might go with your plan. Though, if I end up going in a different direction, I'll let you know via posting about it. Fair enough?
Oh, what the h. I can't be nice enough and tell you don't need to do that. Thanks Marrend.

My ideas are not free. However, by theft I'm only impressed. The only reason I'm not giving my thoughts away is the off chance some law abiding shmuck comes along and assumes I require compensation. Like a reverse Pay-what-you-want deal.

If Masako is having the player make a choice, it seems to me that she would want to player to be armed with as much information about the situation as possible. So, in this respect, Masako should provide what explanation there is. While she might understand the technicalities behind it all, she might figure that the player may not. So, while she would strive to be understandable, some technical jargon might slip through anyway.

Welp. Then we have to extablish the background. Can we go with my plan, or you have something else in mind?

Though, I'm kinda liking the whole "explain nothing" idea that triad2 brought to the table. At least, I think that's what he said? That's how I was reading him, anyway.

I'm not sure what he said either. And no explanation? I dunno about that. I definitely wouldn't let Masako get away with casting spells on me without running me through the basics at least. I know the Player is an idiot, but is he so much? And from the real-life player's standpoint, not knowing what's going on is annoying.

@dozen marrend may still be helped by that even if on a subconscious level and even if not it may help someone else nothing you put your whole heart and effort into is a waste you may never see the results of the work but that doesn't mean they aren't there

having said all that i apologize to both of you for stepping into something that isn't any of my business and i will try to keep it from happening in the future.

Don't you apologize for telling what you believe is right again. You're missing the point, but I don't expect you to understand a madman's thought process. Thank you for helping me calm down.

It was not my intention to create this level of hostility. For however much it's worth, I am sorry.

Of course it wasn't. Thank you for reminding my emotions you're a nice person so I can say what I actually want to say. It just...hurts, you know? It hurts so bad. I'm relying on other people to tell me how much I'm worth, and this made me feel so worthless. Please don't do this again. I'm sorry if I hurt you.

One question, though. Why should I care what exists in D&D? It seems pretty clear to me that I'm following my own rules. Also, wow, that was mean.

Tell me about it. You wanted to drop the premise of Fran's stories, and then couldn't be bothered to tell you didn't actually want help when I offered, and just said what you did because DOZEN DOESN'T KNOW, YOU TELL HIM, and, now after I spent hours of my life to justify the single most ridiculous plot device I've ever seen so you don't have to start again from scratch, of which you knew about, or at least should have if you read anything I say, you tell me to fuck off, as you all of the sudden know better.
I don't know why do I bother with this rant! Might as well not say anything, I get shit on pretty much everywhere I go, and then they are suprised when I act like a clown until they notice I exist! I guess I shouldn't expect THEM when you, who can't open a goddanm door if you're afraid you'll disturb someone on the other side, can stomp over me! Shows how much I'm worth! Surely D&D sucks too much to lay it's dirty hands on your 100% original masterwork, and you must have had a terribly valid reason not to tell me that before I slaved away. I'm going to mind my own business until your highness decide I can offer some help you would not tell this boring lowlife to stick up his ass.

I have to think about this a bit. According to the theory that is presented in Matsumori Days, the boundary between realities can be accessed anywhere, but only if one has the power of an Arbiter.

On a loosely related topic, what is the other reality called? I'm getting some really nice feed for future campaigns here.

Onto the point. My research have been a success. There is, in fact, a kind of ghost from the dreamworld who eats minds. Forgive me for a second while I grieve over realizing just how fucked up D&D is.

In hindsight, this thingy shoulda been a dead giveaway.

Thank you.

Now, the proper, Tabletop-wise reasonable explanation would be that Fran is stuck in the Region of Dreams, either by accidentally getting through a temporary tear in the interdimensional fabric or by being asleep for far too long, a la the Sleeping Beauty. Over time, her torment/boredom/wishes/will/whatever(Depending on the nature of the dream, you know better which one) have managed to take control over her Dreamscape, and her consciousness materialized as a ghost; a Dream Vestige, specifically.

Without getting into the really nerdy science of it, vestiges are phantasms; that is, imaginary... But they were imagined so hard, they can interact with reality, and can be binded to an individual(In this case, the Player) and/or summoned as a spirit. I recommend just binding her for the sake of originality. We don't want to steal from Fate/Stay Night.

I mean, just look at them! These guys would fuck us up!

So the Player binds Fran to himself(because Masako can't be expected to multiclass or waste a feat out of the blue, can she?;). While Masako scans the planes for the body, he takes care of our dreamspawn, fighting down the urge to to munch on someone's midterm. Finally, the Player shooves her back into her body. And it all makes sense now. Cheers!
