author=Rexauthor=DreadedDon't avoid it. It's an important part of the play and the mythology it is based on.
By the way, for those who know the play, I haven't entirely figured on how to handle all the incest, but I'd like to avoid it as much as possible - I'd be open to suggestions, but my current draft dodges it in a fairly subtle manner.
While I agree with you on the first set of the relations, which is why I've been sort of leaning towards including it - I'm not sure if I really believe it is in terms of the 2nd set of incest in the play. I don't really remember it being a point of emphasis, and while I've read analysis on the second set that kind of points it out, the analysis is kind of digging at the story. Feel free to message me to give me your take on it, I'd like to pass this conversation out of a topic thread that is supposed to be focused on screenshots versus story development. I look forward to hearing your point of view.
Thanks.

I like how the character sets (despite not being much of a fan of the chibi style) and the enemy sets are fairly proportional to each other.

The music choices you have made in the video on this page are really excellent - especially in this era of RM2k3, I believe it's really importnat (with the ability of some of the newer forums to make games much better visually).
I've also made music and sound effects a focus in my own game.

Liberty,
The two cases of incest in Wagner's play, the neither of the participants really know initially and in one of the cases it's not so much brother-sister but great-aunt and nephew.
I'll take it into consideration if I deem that I could somehow pull off something that goes over on the player (some sort of dramatic effect I guess) but otherwise if it seems like it isn't worth the promotion, I probably won't do it. There's a good chance I may go ahead and roll with it in one of the circumstances and just avoid it's mention in the other.

author=Satedauthor=DreadedYou should clearly take a Game of Thrones approach instead of a subtle one.

To say that this didn't cross my mind would be a lie, but in this story it isn't like it's the "evil" characters that are of incest, but the "good" characters. It works in Game of Thrones because it is intended for viewers to not like Jamie and the queen (I forgot her name).
Besides, I've already had enough Game of Thrones influence on the game and am probably crossing a few lines as a result that a game that looks like a 16-bit SNES RPG shouldn't cross as a result. So I'm trying to skip the incest, but you can expect lines of men "skewering women with their swords" so to speak.

It's an RPG version of Richard Wagner's The Ring Cycle I am labeling Tales of the Rhinemaidens.
Honestly, if I could I would've made the game in the Infinity Engine, but there isn't really any kind of modding tool for that for programming simpletons like myself, so gameplay-wise I've tried to incorporate aspects of it into an RPGMaker game.
It will compromise of the first three acts which will star Alberich, Brunhilde, and Siegfried, and then the fourth act will expand on the play and bring in some traditional nordic influences. In addition, I've incorporated my own side stories, a few of which have included some of my favorite characters.
I'd expand more but I'm pushing to have a demo released within the next month, although progress has been slower than I wanted to (work demands), but I'm excited to begin work on the next act, the Valkyrie, because it's the shortest act of Wagner's play and thus gives me the most freedom to create a sort of Athlaka-type of environment (for those who have played Baldur's Gate).

[Poll] Design of a quest menu
I'd actually like new quests/sidequests to appear at the top.
I also plan to incorporate a quest menu in my own game (which will be underutilized for this first demo since Act 1 is fairly linear) but I am concerned with it being a little cumbersome to script like the above (I'm using RM2k3). My best idea would be to create a matrix assigning quests to a number and then filling the slots with that number which would correspond with a quest and using the if greater than 0 function when receiving a new quest, but again, I'd like to avoid cumbersome scripting.

It's been a while since I've posted anything in here, so I figured I'd add a screen although it isn't much of anything anyone hasn't seen already:

EDIT: Figured I'd add a few more screens:
