I was able to find a really good bar noise sound effect to put my taverns in as well. My goal with the game is to really bring about a good environment that sort of depicts the aura given off by Germanic/norse mythology.

I've thought about that when I was testing the game. And the barrels are on purpose since, despite this being a throne room, its the throne room of the mead hall of valhalla. Which means liquor must be kept near. :)

On the contrary to what many others have mentioned in the comments, I love the new graphics - they remind me of the Infinity Engine games, which I loved. In an imaginary world where I was any good at making graphics, the imagery in my head would be just about how your game looks. Excellent.

Pianotm,
The game will contain all 4 acts, but I'd like to release the first act once it's finished. The main reason I wanted to go this route is because I wanted inventory to go from act to act; while unrealistic, because of the skillsets/choices of each of the characters, you may find something useful during the 1st ac t with alberich (being a thief) that may be useful only to Siegfried during the 3rd and4th acts, etc.
I am using a lot of D&D (well more infinity engine) concepts that I hope people will enjoy.

Well I wanted to provide a status update...
Working on the 2nd dungeon, progress has been slow due to hectic work requiremnts for year end financial close.
Once the second dungeon is complete (need to finish puzzle and nooks and crannies really, graphically and treasures, etc.) Will be halfway through the first act basically, most of the set up has been completed. I know there isn't a huge fanbase for this project, but for those who are interested it hasn't died! I should have some good time to do some work over the holidays.

Balmung Cycle Part I: The Messenger and the Heretic
I've just completed the cave with the mermaid in it and I must say, very impressive game despite what you call "showing age." Very well polished I must say.

Has there been any reported bugs or anything since you've put this out? I think this is a very cool utility, just would like to know if there's any risks associated with it.

They're actually Castlevania edits. I'm actually really happy with how the Siegfried and Brunhilde ones came out. I was trying to avoid the chibi anime style charasets and go with something a little proportional. I think I'm going to wait and see how they are received when I push some kind of demo out. The first faceset that doesn't display goes to Siegfried, who's the blonde haired guy. The brown haired character is the one in the back row.
