The downloads not working!
At least not for me...

Try it now, it should be fixed.

I guess I could have add more interest to minimize the open space. At the time after testing, it felt right. I'm glad you like that background. It has a parallax effect which adds to the effect very nicely.

Fable of Heroes I: Legendary Edition

I chose this walk speed because it mimics that of early Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. I realize this is sort of a niche that I'm targeting. This game is not meant to be easy.

I tried to scale the game world so things are smaller thus the slow walking speed shouldn't be an issue. Though I will say the first dungeon, "The Forgotten Tower" is maybe too big. I apologize about that and I'll update the mapping to be a bit less open.

Other than that, Iike the feel of a slower walking speed. I hope some other players will see my point.

Thanks for all the honest feedback!

Even though it's RTP I'll download. The maps look good enough.

*played for a bit*

First impressions. It is what you stated, a simple RPG. Decent use of the RTP. I like some of the minor details(exiting the forest in a different place than when you entered). Rooms have stuff scattered about which is good, but places like the weapon shop could have used more stuff.

Now, I havn't played many RM2000 games so maybe I'm just not used to it but the slow movement speed makes me not want to explore a room and just head right for the exit. I found a few hidden objects in jars but I probably skipped even more. At least the maps are relatively small so it could be worse ^.^;

I only played into the second town. I stopped after talking to everybody and unneccisarily sleeping at the inn xD (because I thought it would advance the story). The game is not terrible, however I cannot get past the RTP graphics. It's just my personal preference. If this game had a different chipset I would put some more time into it as it was the only thing that turned me off.

With so many RM games it would take something unique to make me want to put an extended amount of time into. You seem to have the skills needed to make a not-terrible game :)

*edit: OH YEAH I forgot about the one thing I didn't like and maybe I was just missing something but...I couldn't see my Status screen or know anything about my experience points.

Press esc and it brings up the menu. It shows all the chars with their exp and req next level exp. And thanks for the honest feedback. I hope the RTP isn't to much of a bother for you, I figured the RTP already has the look I want, so I just used it. Their are some minor edits to things when RTP didnt cut it. Just keep going, the game gets better and better as you explore and progress.

FIRST

Yup, this is the same game, but it's harder. There's also some added extras, like a new ending, boss, you know how we do. Mainly just a lot harder.
