I agree with what Karin said, however I would also suggest Twine as a platform for making games. It allows you to make text based games that are similar to a chose your own adventure book. It's fairly simple to use and requires little to no knowledge of programming. It might be perfect for a writer like yourself. Here's a tutorial of how to use it.

sorry for making you wait for a while, so basically the screen becomes black like the game is about to start,but then it shrinks and says this file cannot be opened.
Hmmm that's strange. I saw that you had the same problem with Pom Gets WiFi as well. What kind of operating system are you using? Rpg maker games won't work on macs. Also if you are using one of the newest versions of a pc/windows sometimes rpgmaker 2003 games won't run since rpg2k3 is so old.
That's all I can think of...Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm sure there is someone on here who knows the answer though, Maybe try posting in the Help Me! forum with you question.

Update 12/6/14: Here's some old stuff I still like that didn't get bunched in with the last stuff because I forgot about it or something. Also I tweaked the sizing on some of the older stuff I posted so it's easier/nicer/? to look at now.
Up next: more art, but from the last 5 months, so it's newer! Also should I be putting these under hide tags or?
Downloading errors + what to do if you're on a mac
Nhubi that's a really good idea actually. I've only had maybe 4 people have issues with it but still. How would I go about doing that though? (I'm still figuring out how everything works on rmn)

If you are still confused what Pixel Art is, here's a rough guideline.Each individual pixel should have been worked over by your hand.
This means no filters, anti-aliased brushes, gradient fills, blend mode overlays, automated colour indexing, Frankenstein pixels, compression artifacts, etc.
It must not exceed 64 palette colours. Gameplay mock-ups must not exceed 256 palette colours. Submissions approaching these limits will be scrutinised for purity.

I reworked the man as well, but I'm not quite sure whether I can keep the armor like that .. it's kinda iffy to work with.

Yeah, that helps a lot and saves work (I already noticed). Thanks for your help! And I apologize for my whining. It's just not the best news for the early morning.
Edit: Now the basics are fixed. Still need some fine-tuning. The front-view sucks.. but I'll do that later.

That looks a lot better in terms of shading! Your skin tones are very pink like a sunburn though, maybe try toning them down a bit? (Though this might just be my personal preference)
Speaking of the front view I think the issue there is that her face is too narrow...or her neck is too wide

What Archeia Nessiah said about getting faster as you improve is also true so don't give up! Critiques are only going to help you improve further.

Well, I wouldn't really mind as long as proper credit is given, but is that really okay by the contest's rules? Wouldn't you have to probably wait until the event is over before you can use it on something else?
Whoops, realized I probably shoulda just contacted you about this directly- my bad. I'm not sure if that's one of the rules though.
