The Emulation Debate

nothing wrong with emulating a SNES or NES game. I mean it's not like the companies make any kind of profit off of that any more, or for the matter care.
As for me, I like to have a collection, so I like getting hard-copies. Old games (and especially RPGs) can get quite expensive, though (and I don't have a SNES/NES/Megadrive/anything older than PSX) so I do emulate occasionally. Usually SNES RPGs, or when something never came out in English and there's a fan-translation.
Oh, and DS via supercard, but that's fine because most DS games you play for 10 minutes then the gimmick gets old. Though the situation is improving with more RPGs and games that are more than TOUCH. THE. SCREEN., the ol' supercard was invaluable about two years ago.
Playing MP3s in RM2K
The only way I ever found was converting them to WAV, but filesize was huge and it slowed down the game quite a bit when they were played. Not recommended.

Hah, wow. Because it was Episode 1 I was expecting it to be about 8 hours, or something! Eh, think I will save it 'til I finish IV. If you don't appreciate all the references, what's the point? :P

Been playing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.
I'm around 7-8 hours into the final chapter.
Not sure how much there is left, but I'm probably close to the end.
I, uh. I got excited about this and bought it on impulse. I want to play it but I should probably finish FFIV first, only being about halfway through and everything. :-\
Out of interest, if you're near the end of After Years... roughly how long would you estimate it is?

Bought 5 but stopped after a while for some reason.
Eh, on my second playthough atm though, I think it's very slowly growing on me.

Only play the DS version if you don't mind feeling heavily infuriated by dungeon design reminiscent of a "My First RPG Maker gaem" only 100x10^10x worse.
Listening to the dungeon tracks on the soundtrack makes me pretty tense because I'm expecting a random battle every couple of seconds. >:(
Also if you did all the sidequests and got everyone, I'm sure you had to go up those snowy mountains like TEN TIMES

You can't put things as your avatar without having played/seen/consumed them! That's like wearing a band t-shirt without having heard the band.
on a side note, I am completley 100% fluent in Japanese and have definitely played and enjoyed the Genso Suikogaiden games that's right
Replacing Screenshots
So, I tried to replace some screenshots, and I guess they were accepted, but nothing's actually changed... I know the site is undergoing some difficulties at the moment, would it be due to this? Should I just try again in a couple of days/weeks/months?
Also I did see the warning about deleting downloads where it was recommended not to modify your page at all... I saw other people uploading screenshots though, but just realised that this wasn't necesarily modifying and yeah that was kind of stupid.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I am having a little play on Final Fantasy VII on the PSN is what I'm having a play on.
I don't know why I'm so happy. I'm not exactly a rabid fan, and I own the discs. I guess it's because week after week the PSN updates are so awful for us (definitely in terms of PSX games, the main reason I check (Americans got Suikoden at Christmas :()) that it's nice to finally see something resembling quality.
Plus it'll be nice to play portable. Need a bigger memory stick, though...
