Because We're Here ~Mohnblume und Blauerose~ Review

edit: This review now refers to a very-outdated old demo! The more recent release has had a massive graphical overhaul, you'll be pleased to know.

Notes on the Etgoesian Crisis: Plus Review

Haha, I have yet to watch The Wire, but from what I gather, 'The Wire of indie gaming' is... quite the compliment. Thank you very much for the review, in any case! Again, I can promise very little on the NotSMW front - glad you enjoyed this one, though. :)

Notes on the Etgoesian Crisis: Plus Review

Cheers for the review! Yeah, while the game pretty much is what it is re. gameplay, ideally the story and characters'll outweigh it for those who don't find the battles their cup of tea (I actually like the bosses being at the level they're at; I acknowledge that's not for everyone, though, hah)! Glad that seems to be the case, anyway. And good to hear you found the ol' 'flashback' sidequest, too. That is rather illuminatory.

Notes on the Second Mellynd War [RM2K3 Version] Review

I like your reviews, and not just because you liked my game, haha. Anyway, yeah, this made me smile. While the game pretty much is what it is, I'm still going to look into making it more of a 'game' for the full version, probably foremost by making the dungeons a bit more interesting. Pretty much from the start of Chapter 3 onwards, when the 'Suikoden' aspect comes into play, obviously recruiting some of the characters etc. will require a bit of thought, but yes, the dungeons do need more interactivity.

And I do definitely agree about the world map... that needs work. Alongside some other maps, perhaps, yes. Anyway, thanks for the review!

Three the Hard Way Review

Could've chosen a lamppost. You got greedy.

Nah, I like this review. You did kind of throw objectivity to the wind anyway with the 'I don't care' about graphics, but I can definitely emphasise so I won't bring it up!

Also: this game seriously rocks. I should play it again, it's been years...

Notes on the Second Mellynd War [RM2K3 Version] Review

Haha, wow, this one could have gone better. Well, I'll take it on board for the full version. Thanks for retaining some optimism, I suppose!

You speak about the early game a lot. I know this is because it's what the average player will judge it on, but out of interest, (and for when it comes to addressing the criticisms) how far did you actually get? The pacing is definitely sped up after Fenheim, and quite a lot after Chapter 1 (and I promise, from Chapter 3 onwards it isn't exactly slow-moving, heh). If you got significantly further, I was wondering what you thought of the story/pacing past the Fenheim section?

Also, which version were you playing? Was it v.2.0 (title screen will tell you)? If not, you should really check it out. It does cut down the Fenheim section, so with less of the 1 exp battles (might have to change this for the full version, in the end) and less cutscenes - and it even removes a character or two. If you were... whoops. I guess the revisions weren't as significant as I first thought...

Anyway, thanks for the review. Things will definitely take an upturn in the full version.

Notes on the Second Mellynd War [RM2K3 Version] Review

M…\| my wrist…\| No, a lot of this is very helpful. In terms of gameplay, the Fenheim section is fairly atypical to say the least, and quite a few of the things you mentioned do die down, at least a bit, afterwards. Among other things, you actually level up, and the political discourse does, to an extent, transcend party alignment later on (though, now I think about it, that's going to get worse before it gets better). This is completely my fault, though… the Fenheim segment is so long, and right at the start, that I guess a lot of people won't get past it. This was a gamble/stupid. For the full version, I'm seriously going to look into re-tuning it and making it slightly more compact, and putting in some real gameplay before you get to ‘the actual game'. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to give an honest and detailed review! I've taken it all in, and it'll certainly help.

(And the first boss was so strong because he finally drew his sword, and had stolen some leather armour. Not that you'd know this before the scenes begin. I'll put in a message telling you it's a good idea to save whenever you see a tranquil mirror.)

Anyway, if you do ever get around to giving it another shot, It'd be nice to hear what you thought of it further down the line! (Oh, and you have my permission to play it in Testplay and hold shift for the dialogue.)

Disclaimer: I should probably point out, this is somewhat outdated. It's a review of the first demo ('Universal Language'), a good couple of months ago now. I've improved the thing quite a bit since then for the Chapters 1 & 2 demo!
