WIP's been hiding it all along, he loves the fact that you guys almost shat yourselves this April fools....
I need to learn to sprite or get sprites made.
Nice, its great for one of your first attempts, the battler was also good, I agree that you cant see the face much but you never really need to see the face for fast action battlers, you can just have a face-set on the side if thats soo important. The swayings o.k but the knees are a bit high, I like swaying it makes you look like your a mortal kombat fighter or a really hardy drunk n_n
I'm gonna give your technique a shot and sprite over a scanned drawing, I feel it will be alot easier than just trial and error ( which is what I've been doing all week felt like it was useless ). I take it back, spritings pretty tough especially getting smooth animation with it. I still think the best sprites are from Metal Slug and Street Fighter, so I'll just have to keep at it untill I can get my own style and learn with all of you.

I kinda liked the fact RMN was going to be doomed. In some weird way it pulled us closer together, made us more mature, rational, and passionate than at anytime before. People wanted to work on their games, add constructive ideas, start opportunities to get stuff done or communicate with others in the community.
I mean, damn, WIP wanted to quit RMN, but ended up doing the most beautiful thing ever.

Almost though it would be random images and dead projects...

Nice References Darken, just by looking at a few of them and I can see how to sprite the rest is now practice.
I've also always wanted to sit down and make a sprite from total chicken scratch since its a really helpfull skill, most of the time I find character generators and frankenstien spriting only gets you soo far but never really cuts it when it comes to how you imagined or wanted a character to look.
Got any more of these?
You can just use any animation technique you find easy to work with ( for example I saw a game off google images, it was rpg maker but animated entirely with flash. I looked cool because it had its own style and looked simple to make )
The most popular and maybe easyer one out of all might be pixeling but either way animation needs alot of patience and practice to get consistent, can be a bit frustrating at times but the reward of making your own sprites, maps e.t.c feels soo good. kinda like your making your true game ideas ( world, characters, style ) come to life...

Unusual Concepts In RPGs
You fight weak opponents like rats to get experience when you too are weak, when you fight some punk on the street after getting enough experience and HP he might respect you and help you in another fight. Thats all it is to it, at least what I understood.
Looks like this might be HP grinding with an interesting mix but IMO I've never really liked grinding just for HP or stats alone maybe if its for some kind of upgraded equipment or a new weaponry/fighting skills then it can be fun otherwise its a bit lazy ( Its boring if it results to nothing much but a stat increase ). But he also said you can gain HP from begging for food e.t.c which still evens it out plus the battles are optional, its up to you either to grind for HP or beg for it. Literally.
