I like story writing, so my specialism in creating RPGs is the storyline. My back line specialties are on average; Graphic Design, Sprite Editing / Refurbishing, Mapping and Animation.

It depends on rpg maker games, there are tons and tons and tons. There are RPG Maker 2003 games, RPG Maker XP games, RPG Maker VX games, and the new RPG Maker VXace games.
Really, there are no "best games" for beginners, almost every game made by RPG Maker is aimed at beginner to experienced players. Just play any game that attracts your eye or that seems interesting! I'd recommend searching in the games section of this site for a large library of them.
So, what is your preferred maker? I'd recommend starting to play games from the maker you're most familiar with.

What program is recommendable for converting music files?

There are a lot of free online sites that let you convert your beautiful midi music into oggs.
I use this one:

Also, it might helped that you convert your midi to an mp3 using some free mp3 converters that use soundfonts pre-programmed into the converter process.

Yaaaaay! I've been looking for a proper working online converter for a while now. I prefer online to offline because the programs usually have viruses.
I had a beautiful MIDI that VX Ace wouldn't even play, so converting it to .ogg did the trick.

Sana is correct, hold shift when using the water tiles against the cliff edges. If you don't hold it down, it tries to find the nearest autotile to form the edge of the lake in your case.

Looks like lightning from FF13. Just without the loose pony tail. I don't actually think it ruins the atmosphere of the game, after all, we don't even know where the game is set yet. It could be in for of an eastern era for all we know, which means anime does take a first stance.
Although if not, I guess the eyes could be shrunk just a little, because it is personally what I looked at first.

He totally wants to be a super hero.
Weiss is a young man who was brought up in the lower town of the city. He wears goggles which are some how dear to him, and he often looks on the bright side of things. Weiss practices fixing broken down old contraptions, and has a passion for discovering century old remnants.

Age; 19
Hazel eyes, over sized necklace
Working does suck.
Marine is a woman who was raised within her family's magic craft shop. She finds her routine boring and wants to explore the world, rather than sit behind a counter all day. Her family prohibit her from doing any adventuring. She secretly practices her Whip and Dagger combat in the store's brewery room. She often experiences with some potions to see the effects they have on her weapons.

A forest of an autumn footfall, where the trees and large lake spanning the entire forest create a pathway through this lustful forest. Mythical creatures could be found here, but only if you looked hard enough.
South Du'yova is known often as the "Playground of Pixie Dust." because the sun rays oft shine on the lake with an ever so peaceful bloom. The smell of early dew blossoms bless the forest with a fragrant smell. Autumn is constant fall, and the orange leaves are scattered, almost manually to feel like the trees are greeting your presence. A befitting land for pixies.
If mayhap, an adventurer is lucky enough, they might be able to hear the neighs of a mythical horse, or the playful laughter of pixies playing at the lake. The only other sound is a soft breeze which feels like mother nature's whisper, and a harmonic trickling sound coming from a soft, easygoing stream.
Though this land is beautiful in sight and presence, it holds a much darker purpose.
It is a center ground for a war against man and beast. Yes, if you were to adventure into the outskirts of this blessed wood, you'd see broken down wooden contraptions which looked like rams, and huge debris dents in the ground, formerly holding flaming projectiles.
South Du'yova had another name. Its battle name. It was called "Flowers of a Warground". Its beauty, cloaked in sorrow, its shining brilliance, drenched in fallen battles. The forestland of mythical creatures is beautiful, yet brutal, but yet, the mythical creatures live on, the forest lives on. Still shining its orange glow over its battle scars and bruises. The forest lives on in beauty.
Many stand in memorial at the edge of this forest, paying their respects to the fallen soldiers who tried to defend and preserve a land they treasured. The wind could feel their sorrow, and would breeze and water eyes while the leaves fell gracefully.

What do you collect RMN?
Actually, other than pebbles, I collect loads of pennies. I have a large Just Do It bag FULL of 1 - 2 pennies. Like literally FULL. A supermarket in my area has a money converter machine where you drop every single penny you have, and it converts it into pound coins, and pound notes.
Thing is, the damn bag is so heavy I walk like I'm trying to do this while talking.

RPG Maker VX Ace Selection rectangle
I recently migrated from 2k3 as well. I hate to inform you, but I believe they removed the tool :( It was good tool, but the benefit of VX Ace is there are no "filtered" layers, so, as long as you are on the same map and not trying to go into another project, you can right click and it'll get everything but events. I guess it doesn't completely substitute for a selection tool, but its the closest you can get, unfortunately.
