Riposte: The implementation of something purely mathematical like a damage formula will have the same result regardless of engine, not taking into account things like rounding, which make so small a difference that they are irrelevant.

but in something like rm2k3 you can't even customize your damage formulas.

whereas in vx ace you can literally just type in any damage formula you can think of.

so it is kind of important.

Lighting effect help[Resolved]

real quick, is the jack-o-lantern meant to be an overlay?

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

did my first real (incredibly minor) piece of RGSS3 scripting today. altered Window_Status so that "class" no longer goes in the middle of "name" and "nickname", so i can use "nickname" as "surname" without having it display as John "Paladin" Doe on the status menu.

baby steps fo shizzel, but i'm proud of myself.

riposte: implementation is everything

admission: this is 'design & theory', but OP seemed to want practical advice which is, let's be pragmatic, engine dependent.

oooh, I like it. the corners of the ceiling tile look a bit awkward, however, seems to be a missing tile there.

but i guess that's why you said it was a wip lulz

is that an original chapset or just one i don't recognize?

Recolor request

author=Liberty
Depends on what I want to recolour. In the case of sprites I use iDraw3 - it's easy to select just one colour and recolour it with another.

With faces I use Paint Shop Pro 8. I make a layer and set it to 'colour' or 'multiple'. I colour it, then erase the parts that are not needed on that layer - that is the face/skin areas, the background and the red lines, in this case.

I could make a video tutorial of either if you want.

i use either gimp or paint.net, in either case with the magic wand tool (shift/ctrl click for multiple selections) to select colored sections and then either the recolor tool (if it's cooperating) or the regular brush tool to do the actual recoloring.

layers are awesome and your method seems more efficient than mine (!)
