If anyone is trying Intellia and the RGSS Player crashes, go into the Game.ini file and change RGSS100J.dll to RGSS102E.dll and it should start working.
Opinions on coloured message text
Personally I like having the speaker's name in a different colour than the rest of the text but I usually leave it at that. You could highlight important messages such as if a character says where to go next, but it could be more distracting than helpful.

Monitors are a type of warship used in this time period, it'd be weird facing off a ship named after a different type of warship than it is. They're similar to Ironclads in that they're armoured and powered by steam but are generally not as freaking huge and powerful

This is awesome. There needs to be more Western games (without any of that technoblabbery Wild Arms 3 degraded into) and I'll definetly give this a spin when released.
Some of your colour mixes are terrible though like the month on the calender. Blue background with black text is not easy to read. Same with the text below HP (Bullets?), its brown text on a brown backdrop.

There's always the taste preference for diet instead of regular coke. I can't stand Diet Coke but I know some people who can't stand the regular stuff because of how much surgar is in it.

Designer statements, especially for interfaces, are worth spit without any audience testing which you never stated was done. Its not like designers intentionally make bad interfaces so why would they say anything is wrong with it? Since Karusman (who I assume didn't design the interface) said it worked fine, I'm more to believe that my limited experience (being just the video) is the problem.

I don't know your game's mechanics so when damage reported and HP differences don't match its something to bring up and ask about. Somebody who has played the game thought there was an error and all I've seen is that video. I don't know how you expected people to magically know that tidbit of info that explains what is going on without asking questions.
And you're dead wrong about the damage display. When you take 199, you lose 199, and it displays 199. She lost an extra 8 because she had the bloodlust buff/debuff, which ticks away 3 per turn, and an item that ticks away 5 per turn.
