One man codes a DS game on his own in 5 years
Walking around is gameplay? I considered it more him showing off "look at these mobs of people run around" and "look at these custom graphics!". I didn't see anything in the video that made me think "This game looks fun, I want to play it!"
Windows 7
Huh, I didn't know 95/98 used the same drivers. It's been a long time :(
So when does the Windows ME of Vista come out then? :iiaf:

Grand Theft Release Something! IV: Guns of the Patriots [Sept 22nd]
This thread is about the hype, not the releases. When people start releasing in the hype thread then there's nothing to release on Release Something! Day which means there might as well not be a RS! day and then there's no hype thread and then there's no releases and everybody becomes sad.
DO NOT watch that video! It is the unAmerican way! You aren't unAmerican, are you?

So by the time they fix Vista, they release another OS. It'll probably be just as bad as when Vista came out, hell probably worse since people are still using XP.
Also why are they making a 32-bit version? I'd assume hardware will need new drivers for the new OS and there isn't much point in sticking with 32-bit OSes.

That's a neat tech demo. I don't see any gameplay in it though, and the first half of the video was pointless (generic labeled sprites and the guy with his shirt off :| )
Grand Theft Release Something! IV: Guns of the Patriots [Sept 22nd]
Five Random Thoughts About Video Games.
Intellia: in progress
As per the rules, if you have three screens then you can make a page for your game here. As for a download, I'd suggest having some length to your game first. From the sounds of it, a few scenes and rat hunting wouldn't take very long to finish and if your game is over in 10 minutes there's more of a feeling of "That's it?" than "I'll definetly play this next time" (or "What crap" for the bad games). I'd suggest trying to get at least 40 minutes (magic number) of polished gameplay before a release. It'll give players time to get a feel for your game and give some decent criticism.
Unless its a Release Something!, then you could release whatever as long as its playable because that's what RS! is all about!

Where are you going today?

GRS: Why are you going to get dropped out of a course?
Because I missed a class out of my own stupidity.
It was a very important class (the course is an 8 year project and the class was the first which involved forming a group and deciding on a project) but everyone I talked to about it said it was a waste of six hours of their lives. I do get to stay in, but I take a hit on my grades which still pisses me off but its better than having to take the course next year and graduate that much later.
Also was it always "Where are you going"? I remember it reading "What are you doing?" but I just might be going insane after staring at code for too many hours.
If you could remake any videogame which one would it be?
Since EVO was already mentioned, I'll say...
Destiny of an Emperor
Basically Romance of the Three Kingdoms JRPG style, except general's Soldiers (aka HP) affects how much damage you do with a few other changes from the regular formula. Cut the "required general" crap so you can use a larger variety of generals, maybe add some Suikoden features like cooperation attacks, and try to make the huge number of generals you get useful. Maybe multiple parties or something. Also being able to recruit enemy generals from DoaE1 was a cool feature. It does break the plot but after the Yizhou/Hanzhong/Yiling campaign drop the original book or something since it turns to shit anyways. Give room for some creative writing like Legend of Cao Cao did on the Hero path.
