@Holbert: Why do we allow comments from users other than the author and reviewer? If there's an error in the Review it could be handled by PMs to the review author I think.

A lot of people seem to forget that reviews are a communication to the public as well as the creator. If reviews were strictly for communicating opinions and advice to the creator it may as well be done in PM, and giving the reviews a score would be effectively useless.

I would also like people to agree or disagree with a review and not have people be up in arms for them stating their opinions. I do not see why it is drama. Scoring styles are a big source of arguments. If I am to say how I think its unfair or is not valid, it's really not an attack, it's discussion. On the other hand comments need not all be about review scores. I try to be mindful to also talk about something more.

Lastly, there really is no good reason to allow the actions of one user to affect the content of another. Reviews should basically be held in the portfolio of the one who made it.

Nothing Is Perfect

I hold a higher regard for reviewers who would give 5 stars to a game they thought to be great, than those who refuse to think any game should be given 5 under any circumstance (other than being perfect in every detail).

Nothing Is Perfect

Totally worse to REFUSE to give a 5, than to actually give a game one. I have a much bigger problem with that.

(Illustrious)Why, and this is an objective question, was it so fun looking through the scraps in the first version, and such a bore in this one ? I would appreciate a really clear and sincere answer.

When I called myself an early supporter, I might have been misleading. I never did play the rm2k3 version. I was just saying I wanted this VX project as soon as it was announced. I have only played around an hour of VX version 0.1. I also did not give any of the following updates a try because Drak never indicated his new versions addressed the REAL problem I had with the game- the pacing issues. So I have experience with one version only, and it was never fun. I really only have room to talk about 0.1 and decided to talk about 0.3 because of a problem I assume is still present.

Lastly, I had no interest in trying new versions because
A. I did not want to keep replaying the same chunk of story.
B. If there is a new version of aftermath every week or two, it would leave me to believe Drakyth should have been spending more time on the game before releasing it in the first place. I am not looking for the game equivalent of a newspaper with weekly updates. I am not interested in seeing what any creator has done to a game in the last two weeks. Let's see what happens after a few months or even a year.

AFTERMATH VX - Version 0.4 Review

The way Drak handled the review and the subsequent comments is unlike anything I would have expected from him. As an early enthusiastic supporter of this project, I feel this game started to lose its edge with overexposure (between all the blogging, videos, and reposting new versions).

There's a difference between enduring tedium and expecting "hand holding" as you call it. I wanted to stop after checking every searchable tile on the maps too. You say there are 700 places like this? This snail's pace of a game did not hold me long enough to see the story unfold. What I did get to see was not saying much. To have expected a much warmer reception to this game, it probably should have spent more time in development.
