Jude, highlight something in your favorites menu and then press 1-8. You can even favorite something, bind it to a hotkey, and then unfavorite it; I usually do this with quick conveniences like clairvoyance, detect life, nighteye/torches, etc. Every character I have binds clair. to 7 and their light source to 8, then cleans them out of the quick menu.

So you have to do it within your favorites menu? Never thought of that. I was trying to do it in the regular inventory menu like Oblivion.

Anyways, for people playing Skyrim on PC, how can you get over the horrible consolized controls/UI.... After playing it on PS3, even if my PC can run it and it would make aiming with spells/bows easier, I will still probably stick to my PS3, simply because the PC version feels really crappy.

You can't. This is something I am really hoping gets addressed either with a patch of a mod. I like the quick favorites menu, but I wish I could also hotkey a full setup to the number line. There are some interface bugs as well. I changed some of the hotkeys but it still shows the old ones in the menu. For example, I use F to sheathe my weapons and G became my perspective toggle. As a result, the menus say F sets an item to my favorites menu when it is in fact G. Sometimes mouse control stops working during dialogue and I can't highlight an option, so I have to use W and S to cycle through my choices. I am also lacking inventory sorting features and a method of quickly identifying stolen items in a long list (I have to actually highlight a stolen item to see the tag). The game still excels in spite of these problems which is a testament to how good the content is.

I have literally fought Thalmor using the "Come At Me Bro" technique where they tell me to back off and instead I draw my weapon and get right in their face. Sometimes, but not always, after several minutes of awkwardness, they attack me, and I can kill them without it being a crime. (Maybe it isn't a crime if you assault them outright; I don't know.)

I don't think it's a crime, but maybe I just didn't get caught. When I was doing a quest to rescue a Thalmor prisoner I offered to do so by peaceful means. When the Thalmor guard said I needed Imperial authorization, I decided it was more efficient to sneak in and slit all of their throats.

I leveled up really fast as a stealthy character. I'm already Lv35. I am stealthy enough now that I can backstab people in the face (the 15x multiplier is awesome). I started using a shield for those moments when I have to fight things for real and I wish I'd started sooner. Shield bash is so completely overpowered and I can spam it all day because I have so much stamina.

Oh, I found this guy, who you may remember from Morrowind and Oblivion: M'aiq the Liar

I love this game but draugr with disarm shout are complete bullshit and ruining the game for me. Every time I get hit with it I reload, because it is almost impossible to find my weapons afterward.

Decrypting...

Grand Theft Auto V

I couldn't get into GTA4. Driving wasn't as fun as it was in the PS2-era games.

EO games are too oldschool. I wanted to like them, but they just don't mesh with the modern era. EO3 is the best in the series, but still pushes the needless frustration envelope.

If only XP gains were 5x greater, the it would be so much more enjoyable.

I like EO a lot, but I agree that the game would be a lot better if the experience curve wasn't so awful. Basically, if I only level up once on a 45-minute train ride, that is too ridiculous.
