Incidentally, the snake was green first. This is a color swap version. The merman is green because I didn't want so many blue things here.

I'm curious, since this looks like the area that corresponds with the battle screenie you posted, if you fall into those holes do you land in water or the like and have to fight your way out?
If so, badass.

You don't really have to watch your step. The holes are impassable. The battle screenshot does correspond with the interior areas of the moat/bridge area. Enemies are the same as the exterior, but the backdrop is different.

It's in currently, with some more recent changes. I've finished all the interiors and monster graphics... Though I still need to populate their stats and AI tables which is pretty easy.

What am I looking at? Perhaps a bridge? If it is a bridge then it's kind of confusing to look at, but I bet it looks nicer in game. I'm not sure about those pillars that hold the bridge though. Also not sure about the building(?) that's in the center of the picture. Why is the wall split into three? I think it should just be the same wall and not split by the pillars. Perhaps I'm looking at it wrong though. I like every thing else though. :-)

Due to the nature of the character's mobility on the map, will the player ever actually see the moon?
Maybe it would better serve as a static panorama background.


It is a static panorama. I just put it in a background layer since the pink was annoying me. The actual panorama is here:

Will you be re-uploading the updated version some time in the future?

I have no intention of re-uploading anything. Especially considering that any changes to the battle system in the arena version I'll have to duplicate in the actual game folder as well.

Throwing some Phantasy Star III out there, which is a lesser game in the series but it has a pimp overworld theme that gets better as your party size increases.

All right. I just made the status effects less verbose. I made the verbosity switch-dependent so I can toggle it on/off whenever I want, if I see reason to. I did add a sound effect for success/resist since I felt like more than an icon was necessary.
