Sideview: Turnbased or ATB?
I guess it depends on how good your game is. Take Chrono Trigger for example, the ATB in that game rocks hard because you can time your attacks, and you need to think quickly. But to be honest, most bosses don't require a lot of thinking.
I've yet to see any boss in an RPG Maker game that required any real strategy.

Well I got this from TheChosenFew on GW (SW) and in my opinion it needs to be posted here as well.
It's Yellow Protector of the Sun, a comedy RM2K game. Super RTP Adventure in turn (by Clucky) was inspired by this.
Also you're going to hate it if you can't deal with bad mapping, but if you want a laugh and you like random humor you should probably try it out.

I'm trying to create a world map with the RM2K3 RTP. It's pretty difficult. I tried looking at Hero's Realm, but I'm just never satisfied with what I have.
