Farmyard Chronicle, Director's Cut! Review
Yeah you're right about the music; it's been so long since I went back and listened to the older RTPs, never used them myself. I actually really love the song playing where all the sheep are stampeding. (obviously since I brought it up in Sound)
And the dashing making it unable to teleport was a good choice imo, just thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

We the People Review
I figured you had the sprinting in place so I couldn't just quickly walk past all those poor slow enemies. Making all of them more aggressive however might make players who want to avoid some of them pull their hair out. It's not an easy balance, for sure.
It's cool that your friends are helping out with the game as well; when I made games with friends we didn't care about mapping at all. For the longest time empty RTP maps were the norm in my stuff.
There's definitely the potential for a really interesting story in there from what I saw, so I look forward to seeing where you go with it.

Submission Rules: Update - Addendum added because ffs people!
Yeah I see it now; this whole topic is actually really good for people like me who have yet to submit a game.
So 6/8, do I at least get a consolation prize?
I'll probably go ahead and wait until I can at least put down 5-8 in-game images before I submit mine. It's good to know though that most people take it seriously enough that you have to search for good examples of bad submissions.

@Liberty
None of them made it? Was Legend of Larry nothing but empty maps with Ralph or Eric as the lead?

Heh, I didn't even think about it after typing that.
You must harden your heart if you plan on exploding chickens. Until it was pointed out that's what I was doing, I had no idea.
I did enjoy the game, as my review will reflect once it's accepted; I'm glad you brought it to my attention.

No problem SnowOwl, thanks for creating the experience!
I'm going into Farmyard Chronicle now; I sure hope the adorable farm animals I punt have a masochistic side, otherwise I might feel bad.

Sooo... GamerGate
When it comes to just how widespread the corruption is, I agree, most people had no idea how far down things went.
So it just sucks that it had to take the harassment of a female developer for people to begin piecing together the relationship between some developers and the journalists that favor them.
People here bringing up those journalists aren't doing so because their reviews are biased (people can't help being at least a little biased), it's because gaming journalists are getting paid off by developers/publishers to give their games preferential treatment. This was fairly old news to some in AAA circles, but this whole scandal unearthed just how bad it is in indie game circles too.

[Poll] Your favorite RPG Setting
pfft you guys are awesome.
Also yeah it's one of the few games I have played before registering on this site; moving through the environments were very enjoyable.

[Poll] Your favorite RPG Setting
Yeah there's barely any High Fantasy games on here, mostly just what some people refer to as "Generic Fantasy" which is only called that because it's so prevalent in JRPG land.
It's a good thing many people prefer that setting since most RPGs use it. As for me, I've never outright disliked a setting, but my favorites tend to be very dark. If you're going Medieval Fantasy, throw in the Bubonic plague and my interest is already peaked.

Sooo... GamerGate
Game journalism, both AAA and indie, have been biased and outright corrupt by being in bed (figuratively of course) with developers and publishers for the longest time. Rigging is encouraged since there's something in it for both sides that participate. It's a real issue that needs to be completely unearthed for all interested parties to see.
But, you really have to ask yourself this question if you want to get at the heart of this whole movement:
Why are a large group of people raging on about it now when the deep level corruption has been apparent and out in the open for years?
Sure, all the noise made by the ones who first took the GamerGate mantle may have caused quite a few people to adopt GG in order to sniff out the depths of gaming journalism corruption, but don't forget that this all started to screw up the life of one woman whose personal shit should have stayed that way.
What her ex did is the lowest vindictive blow you can do to your ex; it doesn't matter what she did, personal should stay personal. If she's as bad as he says she is, her actions will speak for themselves. She wouldn't need your help to look bad if that were the case.
