By the way I've been using this for my projects (see my profile if you're interested) - so I think the male tachie really is useful (if limited in terms of possible poses).

Gave it a try today, I'll send some feedback your way when I get a bit more mileage on it ^^

Am I a bad boy for thinking I'd like to script this effect so I could somehow put into my little tachie-thingy?

Not at all, less time spent fiddling with tutorials for the asset creation is more time for writing the story after all ^^

As a extra detail on the process:
The hairs are merged because the levels command is a bit finicky (probably based on the overall lightness of the layer), so the hairs parts may mismatch if edited separately, however, this whole 'setting up a layer mask' can (probably) be ditched by using fixed pre-cut overlays with soft transparency.
It'd be a bit more limited in the possibilities but much easier to set-up.

Hellooo-ween, the dead to emerges from the shadows

Been reminded awhile ago that while a couple copies have been shared, the male tachie that I've made along with garage at the start of the year has never been 'officially' released. And that's because I never got to finish it. .-.

Replicating Yu-chan art style always has been a complicated task, when it combined with the sheer amount of armparts+outfits to make...
The project of making a male tachie outlived my plans to make a route and thus got postphoned for months on end. Therefore, I'll just upload the current version as is, it's currently VERY limited as long as poses are concerned, but is still usable, the color palette and a few unmerged parts are also included. (The Blazer, a Shirt and a Hair)
Hopefully these will help anyone interested in continuing the project or making their own parts get to know the ropes.

As for another thing I don't think I've shared yet, have a tutorial on light based two-tone hair, like the one the girl on the pic has. ^^

Do you mind if I integrated them into my tachie generator thingy? And may I remove those yellow edge stuff for that purpose?

EDIT: Have you tried combining the pin and those ribbons with the other hairstyles? Would they work?

Sure ^^
Oh yup, the yellow edge it's just to keep them in place while adding to an existing .PSD or such.

The hairpin... most likely not, it was created with to work along with the UMP hair so the size would be off for anything else, the ribbons however, could be used as an acessory alone or moved to work along with existing addons, like the ponytail.

Nobody expects the surprise Santa!

Bringing some haircuts for your festive needs:
- "Celes" front bangs;
- "UMP" front bangs (with separate hairpin)

I really hate to say this, but there's still a few broken dropbox links in that "showroom thing" (namely the ones to the HTC and SOSC background packs.)

Oh donuts, forgot these two were on dropbox, it's links policy and behaviour changes every now and then, switching them over to mediafire.

Wow. Just ... wow.

Let me guess: the default colors of the new pieces are perfectly tuned to match those of the original outfits?

About sunset/night tachie ... I did notice that a normally lit tachie looks a bit off on a night sky background ... but I never would've bothered doing something about it.

PS: Of course I'd really liked to use those additional outfits and styles for an improved version of my tachiegenator scripts if you gave me the permission to do so.
(It would take me a while to adjust those to make them work with your new PSD, but it'll be worth it.)

Yup, they come in the default uniform blue and orange hair

And sure, you may use these with the generator ^^
It should be possible to replicate the effect into it too, although I'm not sure on how to boost the red for the sunset one...
By the way, I added links to the generator and the story debugger in the first page showroom thing, can't believe hadn't done before my hiatus, if there's something else I'm missing PM me and I'll add it up. ;)

Making progress here too, but having some problems connecting with the other outfits, I'll (probably) deliver something tomorrow.

As this sweet 300hr day draws to a close, not only the jeans are finally finished, two new hairs and a few extras have joined as well for the...

Outlines are fairly easy ... probably the one I added is a bit too thin tho. (You'd need to reload the picture to see it.)

EDIT: Her pants should now have loops and pockets and stuff. (in fact there's a button, too but that's below her top.)

Frankly, there's no real need to overdo things, at least not for heartache tachies, 99% of the time the legs are behind the dialog box anyway (and thus not too visible).

Loaded the new one now, outlines good and clear, also pockets n' loops. :D

And yup, most of it will be behind the text-box so no need to sweat over the tinier details. ^^

Update, Riku's wearing a denim jeans (which is fit a bit more tigthly, too):

Neat, the tone and colour is spot-on, and the texture looks nice. ^^
My only gripe is that the outline is missing :\

Making progress here too, but having some problems connecting with the other outfits, I'll (probably) deliver something tomorrow.

Em .... Kevin? ....
Ever thought about designing some jeans or leggings for them girls?

Attempted once back when I was making Eliza but didn't look okay, as mentioned, the texture, belt, belt loops, pockets, button, the flap-thingy there's so much stuff that can go wrong. xD

I'll give it another shot and see how it turns out ^^

author=Garage
I won't even talk about stuff like hands in pockets or playing with the belt loops ... that would be wayyyy over my head, since the arms are part of the upper body and hand-in-pocket would require an sightly different pose then arm- at-side.

These are probably over my level though, fiddling with the loops would require drawing a whole new hand, and hands... uh... *starts sweating*
Hand in pocket is easier but still there is a lot of thingies here-and-there to look after so I'm not sure.
