Just to sort of compile what I've learned so far. I backed up one of the pages to webarchive just as an example of what to lookout for:

After looking at a couple of these gamepage accounts there seems to be a pattern between these accounts:

1)Often these malware itch.io games pages, will be game pages that have been published quite recently.
If you check "More Info" it'll usually say "Published 12 hours ago" or "2 days ago". (the longest account was published 8 days ago)

2)Another thing to look out for is shared file sizes.
In the example I posted above you'll notice, there's 3 games on this account, but each game on this account, shares a file size of 189MB, often the file sizes will vary, but if at least 2 games have the same file size, then it's most likely malware

3)Last but not least, if you're still not sure, use virus total to check for malware
Out of curiosity, I decided to upload/scan Mystic Quest Remastered, because I thought it was odd, someone would release an unreleased game of frogge's on itch.io, it only took a few of minutes but this is what came up:



But ya, as liberty mentioned, the easiest way to sort of track this down is to just search your username and game names on itch.io's database. and just, skim gamespages, while using those 3 conditions I mentioned:

if the gamepage was published 2 - 8 days ago, or the file size looks suspicious , it's probably malware - if you're still not sure, use virus total

And yea, just keep your eyes peeled.

(This is kind similar to what they wrote for FFD's page:
each game was 11mb
each game was published 2 days on itch.io)

To report, just go to the bottom of Mystic Quest: Remastered

Select:
Report> Uploader not authorized to distribute> Description: link your RMN gamepage,
say you didn't authorize mystic:quest remastered for distribution, etc and just leave your email.

They'll probably take the offending account down within a day.

But ya, keep your eyes peeled on this everyone.

What exactly are you trying to figure out concerning the horizontal output?

I'm terrible at explaining this, so bare with me.

When using spritesheet creator, in order to get the animation to loop correctly in Cherry's new picture-in-battles feature, the spritesheet needs to come out as a "perfect" square, so that each frame is divided evenly and no empty frames appear in the spritesheet.

So, for the Dog Idle Animation, it's 300 frames of animation.
in the horizontal output, I entered "15", because 15 x 20 = 300
So you get 15 images across, over 20 rows and everything divides evenly - so you get a great, perfect square sprite sheet.

…But, if I have an animation, that has, say, 176 frames of animation, what number would I need to put in, to get a "perfect" square sprite sheet of 176 frames?

All questions aside, I can't thank you enough for creating sprite sheet creator! ❤
It would've taken me months to put the dog animation together by hand.
I really can't imagine how i'd be able to put this together any other way, so thank you!

Thanks for mentioning this, Hero Story: Dragons has been mentioned a couple of times already. shrub mentioned it as well , but was unable to retrieve it but we'll definitely keep our eyes peeled for it, as it's been request at least 4 times so, it's highly sought after.

one of the things Darken mentioned in the original archive thread was to give warning if one of us was going to be away from the archive for an undisclosed amount of time - I'm giving out that warning now.

I'm gonna be away from RMN for an undisclosed amount of time - not sure when I'm going to be back, but hopefully it won't be for too long, as I still have a lot of plans for this, including, creating that archive torrent I mentioned awhile ago - (I really want this archive project to eventually become the hg101 of rpgmaker games, but that's a far off idea at this point.)

Right now what the archive mostly consists of is:
Games under The Masterlist,
The GamingGroundZero Games
The Queens Courts Games
(Some Centro RPG games)
As well as everything and anything that has been requested and fulfilled up to this point, from this thread.

I have everything backed up on two external wireless harddrives.

I have not had a chance to go through anyon175 or hedge1's addition but I have downloaded them as well. (thanks again hedge1 btw! ❤ what you gave us, was quite significant on clearing, what's missing from "the missing list" so I can't thank you enough)

But yeah, Just be sure to back up everything under the mainlist while I'm gone, just in case something happens down the road with mediafire - most of the list is backed up on mediafire, but it'd be nice for someone to also have a copy of what's there as well. everything else, is just double checking the old archive thread as well as the new one, for any new requests and writing them down, which is fairly easy to do.

(I'm also going to submit the non-RTP tutorial as is, in the next couple of days, but revise/update later with pictures:

But to put simply, if you're having trouble running rpgmaker2000/2003 games like Castlevania: Elegy of the Curse:

1.Edit the RPG_RT.ini fil with "FullPackageFlag=1"
2.Include Harmony.dll in the game folder
3. use RMTools to quickly scan and import RTP resources into your rpgmaker project (you don't need to select and choose, RMtools already knows which files the game needs.

...It pains me that I can't do more at the moment, cause there's so much I want to do with this down the road - because it's really exciting to see the stuff Darken and anyon175 are uncovering, I feel like the more we rediscover, the more we can eventually rebuild what was once lost from the community and then take that even further.

rpgmaker history is important:

final fantasy vs. dog, would not be possible without rpgmaker history.
the new rpgmaker2000/2003 video thread would not be possible without rpgmaker history.
There are so many cool and crazy things people are making right now, that would not be possible without studying what's come before.

the stuff we're doing right now, it's not that far removed from studying various art movements in art history (art deco, art nouveau, neoclassicism) and then trying to incorporate those principals in order to create something new.

this is why studying rpgmaker history is important.

"The RPG Maker 2003 Runtime Package is not present or not registered."

I have had the RPG Maker 2K3 RTP installed for a long time, and did a re-installation to be sure, still cannot start the game.

I don't know what is the cause of this problem. I have tested all of my pcs, and it works just fine, even the ones that don't have it installed.

...I tried this too and I can't seem to replicate the problem:

Kyubey, try downloading Harmony.dll, use winrar to extract the file and place it in Castlevania's game folder,

let us know if this worked.
