^ Well, you could keep the folder open and check if a new save has been made every time you save? ... But yeah, double slotting, if you check your previous save slot, makes sure that the previous save existed.
Also repeatedly saving instead of just saving and going. Like save multiple times in the same slot whenever you stop to save?

I was a tiny bit confused with the map, but after a while, I managed to figure out where everything was. The color shift confused me for a bit, but now I see that the pre and post-color change rooms are the same, just different colors and decorations, or something?
Does the dining room tell you that its the dining room if you try its door before it unlocks? Perhaps making special messages for each room would help the player remember what door goes where.
