I don't know what it is, but i love those tiles being used, they kinda look familiar... yet.. different.

Only thing that bugs me.. and this is not your fault, it's the makers fault.... you can not have the monsters do that... shake and flipping thing they do in the actual game when attacking... which sucks... otherwise.. awesome stuff man, i hope you manage to complete it.

Mostly because 2k and 2k3 were limited to 256 colours, where-as VXPA (lawl) aren't.
I don't mind either way as long as the graphics match well enough and the story/characters are good. It was just that in the case of a game being sold, there is an expectation of 'better than free'... and there are a LOT of awesome free games on the makers, so...
This is true.. no i can't see it being sold.. i mean i seen this one game that looked horrible on kickstarter.. it was an RPG.. i tried to get this guy to sell me on the idea of this game before i donated to him right, and so i was like "i could make something much better looking in RPG maker" wow.. i got torn up by the guy working on it...rather than him go "wait till you see it in motion" cause all he had was screen shots... he got mad..
So i can see why this game could not be sold.. i don't too many would buy it.. that's not to say no one would... but.. yeah.
I seen another game being made that is 8 bit looking and is going to be sold.. but it's a plat-former.... so i still think their is a place for 8 bit stuff.. an audience.. but.. maybe not a huge one.

All i know, is i have similar projects i'm working on.. well similar graphically, i don't go with the high res stuff either.
I tend to go for lower res looking graphics myself, not for nostalgia's sake, but because it's a bit easier to work with, and takes less time than the higher res stuff.
I already tried doing higher res stuff, and it is not only VERY time consuming, but i'm bad about using black outlines and some people like to complain about silly stuff like that.
I like this game cause it kinda reminds me of.. maybe a better version of FF: Mystic Quest, that or maybe slightly similar to the original Phantasy Star series.
Also, this is not the first game i have seen using graphics kinda like this, i mean the same things can be said for pretty much every RM2K and 2K3 game that's ever been made.
Also, i can't see this game being sold because of anything that would be ripped and edited... but i could still see it being made and put out for people to enjoy. Again, i don't think i ever see these kind of statements when it comes to 2K and 2K3 games made.

As far as I can tell, everyone simply pointed out an obvious rip in a commercial game (read: plagiarism) that could actually land ReynardFrost and possibly RMN in legal trouble. That being called out should be and has been appreciated by Reynard, though I don't think removing that screenshot/image was the best course of action; it resulted in the entire fiasco making a bad case for the game and Reynard than the rip already did.
Regarding the rest of the comments, it's all relatively calm banter about game devs making games "for nostalgia" and how that attitude might not necessarily be a good one to have as a game dev. Reynard and Harm obviously disagree in their views but neither really ragged on the other, though I do think Reynard making assumptions of Harm's character was a bad call on his part; one should always strive to debate against the points of discussion, not against one's character.
So... nice trolling and asskissing I guess, my good sir?

All i know is if it was me, i would be freaking the hell out on people, he's been way calmer than i ever could be, and i salute him for that.

I gotta say Reynardfrost, you're dealing with all the hate and asinine bull-crap of people WAY better than i ever could.
The only way i can cope is to tell myself "they're just jealous and so they're starting crap with me" and it helps me move forward.
For every jerk, their is someone who likes what you're doing and won't be a nitpicking ass.
