I haven't 100% tested this character in the game engine proper, but here's my contribution.
Extracting the files into the base Hearthache directory (wherever you put it) should put the files into their proper directories. If, for some reason, they do not, I think the file names (or types) make it clearly evident where they should be.
This particular character doesn't even make an appearance in the game until around Day 30 with a HIGH priority event (starting at Day 25) that points to where she is "introduced". However, I highly advise you to make an alternate save file, as she requires a certain stat to be a certain number or less, and the location where she can be found is where the stat in question is normally "buffed".
If you have any questions, suggestions, or have any issues with this character, please don't hesitate to PM me, or make a comment on this page.

Yeah, it's certainly possible to go into the stalls, but the delinquents can still catch you there. The map seems to loop, as I was able to go left, and end up on the right side of the screen? Not sure what's going on with that, but since the delinquents also seem to use that "bug" it's a non-issue. At least in my book.
Still, if you want to be sensical, might want to ensure that the map doesn't loop around.

If this is supposed to be the actual map you'll use in your game, then wouldn't you want to specify what your world looks like? and the style of map you want so it fits with your game?
Hear hear!

What about his other maps? Would they be made this way too, for graphical consistency, or would they be made with VX RTP, or what?
Youtube videos not loading???
Sometimes, when I'm browsing on RMN, I see a large blank space where a video should be. No clue what's up, but, as a recent example, I was browsing the Pass/Fail thread, and there was at least one post that had this effect.
*Edit: Though this could more of a "website issues" thing than anything else, but I just wanted to throw it out there.

Giving Feedback: Pass or Fail
I apologize for not responding earlier, but I was only recently made aware that you did a Pass/Fail of Matsumori Days.
My first reaction, before even watching the video, was "Of all the games on RMN to make a comeback with the Pass/Fail concept on, or a comeback in general, why this game?" I must admit, I was pretty nervous when it was loading/buffering. However, I attempted to be as receptive to the commentary as possible.
Pretty close on how I pronounce the names, I must say. Thought I'm not sure which of us is more "correct", to be blunt!
benos is quite correct about the face set. "atelier" or "ateiler2", or both. I acquired them via a RPGM 2K RTP add-on. Some were altered somewhat before I re-sized them to fit into VX's engine. What link they have to the Atelier Iris series, or the user that made them, is unknown.
"Another character that looks like the other three!" It's called "the standard NPC cliche", but I think I understand your qualms.
Maybe I should allow both Masako and Kojiro to join by talking to either? It's a consideration. Would make the game flow a bit better.
"Reading shouldn't be a chore." The dialog was the only thing I really concentrated on, so this comment was kinda painful. Oh well. Can't win 'em all.
"It's like the RPG Maker version of Where's Waldo." It might have helped you to know who "Umehara" is, but I get where this "hate" is coming from. All the characters look practically the same with those school uniforms!
Information: The title screen music is from Treasure Hunter G (My Rural Village, to be specific), whereas the music in school is from the XP RTP.
From what you experienced of the game, and the opinions you expressed within the video, I can't argue with getting a Fail. Thanks for giving it a try, though!

I would like to direct Marrend's attention to Creation's Pass or Fail of this game:

Wha? I never specifically asked for one! I was just "thinking" about it! I'll have a look-see, but perhaps at a more opportune time.
*Edit: How'd I miss nesfreak's post!? Anyway, a couple of initial reactions.
A) I consider myself a writer first, and a game-maker second. If I somehow failed at characterization, that would be pretty sad. As for Masako, she's my favorite character overall because I had to think twice about how she would say certain things. I didn't mean for her to come off as pretentious, but I'm not sure how to make her "sound" to other people the way I "hear" her talk. Did that make any sense?
B) Masako might throw people off because she refers to people by their family names rather than their given names. The original flavor was that she was using the "-san" honorific, and generally being formal. There was a suggestion earlier to just have everyone be on a given-name basis, but I wanted to keep my concept of Masako being as formal as possible.
C) Yeah, balancing is still very much an issue, sadly. I'm not sure what else I can do, though. As for the status effects being annoying, er, aren't they supposed to be? Dunno how to "fix" that, even if I wanted to.
D) Calm down there! I mean, it really wasn't that hard to make the enemies on-screen. Perhaps I should have used a common event, though, as they are, essentially, copy-pastes of the same event...
Stream of consciousness: I am the completeness!
The final version was available when I made this blog post. Forgive my erstwhile ramblings if that wasn't clear.
Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet~
Oh, I got an error all right! It's not a problem with the game, per say, but with me trying something... interesting.

I was able to go in between those stalls on the side of the screen. I've a theory that, after all the delinquents come out, I think it might be possible to hang there 'till the coast clears.
I'll be sure to make a note of it, but I'll probably toss the results of that theory here as well.
