ONE WEEK LEFT!
You can still buy the Japanese version. I saw it a couple weeks ago when browsing some Japanese sites. Also they have more features, like bigger charsets and battlechars. Not like it's a big deal though since we can always use Cherry's patches that can do the same. I've never seen the english version of rm2k/3 for sale though.
Is grinding a flaw in rpgs?
author=Versaliaauthor=tardisI was also thinking this and then my brain bluescreened before I could compose an actual post. did i go wrong place
... this is your topic, and it explicitly states it's about RPGs- ie games usually driven by stats- in the title.
i have no words
p.s. why isn't your DBZ Card Gaem using an ABS
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The Mario and Luigi games are rpgs. In the japanese title they're called Mario and Luigi RPG. Also my dbz fan game is not an rpg. It's a card game hence the title. Yes it has some rpg aspects, but its hardly an rpg.

I mentioned the M&L games in my first topic, so I have no idea what you could possibly be talking about. I was talking about any rpg that involved grinding.

author=halibabicaWhat do you mean rm2k/3 is illegal? The engine was made to be sold, so I don't get how it's illegal if it was made to be sold.
There was talk about this on the Moon Base Mario page. The conclusion they came to was pretty much that SMBX is now illegal in the same way rm2k/3 are. So, no, we're not canceling the project, and we won't remove SMBX games from the site. I assume it'll be the same as we handle all our other illegal wares: no on-site downloads or links to the engine. Holb said the games could be made standalone, but I dunno nothin' 'bout that.

Did you make those wall tiles? I don't remember them in the DQ games. It kinda looks weird to see gravity defying water like that. I would think the water would flood out the cave. Perhaps the wall is actually glass that holds the water back, like an aquarium. Any ways this looks like a fun place to explore, especially that ice slide puzzle. Can't wait to finish the game.
Graphic Novels or Mangas?
author=Libertyauthor=DudesoftDitto. Among others.
Anyway, I read both; though Manga moreso, simply because I follow One Piece.
Thinking about it, though, you're right Dude. People could call manga comics and comics graphic novels, even though you'd think there'd be a difference.
For instance - you could define manga as asiatic novels that use graphics to tell a story - usually long and serious, but there are those that are formatted like newspaper comics, others that are purely crazy and still others that don't focus on story. I'd like to say that generally manga is more focussed on telling a story.
Then you have comics, which you think would be different to manga, but really the only difference is that there are whole issues printed in colour and the way they are read from left to right... then you have manhwa/manhua which is read left to right but follows basic manga convention in being mostly black and white. And newspaper comics which may or may not focus on a story from week to week, but is mostly in black and white, just much shorter in length.
Then graphic novels which are heavier on story and characters than either (I do believe) but basically the same. I think the main difference is that the quality of paper used in graphic novels is higher than normal comics and manga.
There is of course a lot of overlap - There are comics that read more like graphic novels, manga that are like newspaper comics, graphic novels like comics, etc.
Either way... At least there's a lot to choose from. ^.^
That would be an interesting idea to see mangas printed in color, I wonder why they aren't.

Best RPG Music of all time
I can't believe no one mentioned Koichi Sugiyama, from the Dragon Quest games. I think he has made some amazing tracks.

I think her um... breasts are to big. They don't seem realistic unless those are implants. Which wouldn't surprise me considering the shape of them as well as size.
