What is the Biggest Design Flaw in Games?
I think one of the biggest flaws a game could have is that they're made to easy. I mean some games are virtually impossible to lose. Unless you consider dying and respawning 5 steps away from where you died, with no penalties.
This is an example of what I mean.

Of course I think the number one flaw a game could have is bad controls and camera that make the game frustrating/unplayable.

Basic Frankenspriting Tutorial
Lol I always did it the hard way by just editing the character then pasting the parts over the main sprite. Nice tutorial, kinda short though.
RPG 20XX Engine
I'm talking bout mode 7 effects, not FMVs. Also, I was asking how come you shouldn't be using movie files in game. I don't think the movie command needs any more functionality because it would be a waste because most rm2k3 users never use the movie command.
RPG 20XX Engine
author=WolfCoderauthor=ConmonOf course not. The movie command will do nothing in this game- you shouldn't be using straight-up movie files in your game. If you have to use movie files, consider using a different engine.
Will .avi's be supported?
How come?
I've seen it used in an interesting way to create 3d-like animation.
How Not to React to Criticism 101
Are remakes of commercial games allowed?
I'm not sure if this belongs in this section if not someone please move it to where it should be.
I would first like to say this is not a complaint about my game being rejected. I have scrapped the project a few months after it was rejected and not because it was rejected, due to management issues.
So, I've noticed there is a remake of breath of fire II. Which surprised me because I once tried to submit a remake of a commercial game and it got rejected because it was a remake of a commercial game. So are commercial games allowed now? The game I submitted was rejected about a year ago, so maybe things have changed when deciding what games are allowed on the site. I also want to note my game was not a complete remake as the battle system was revamped and the game was more of an rpg-style. I still got the following message denying my game.
Reason: Due to the nature of this project being nearly a straight remake of a commercial game, I'm afraid we can't accept it.
Here was the info on my game page.
Game Info:
The game's story is follows the same as LA. This game will almost be exactly the same as LA. Except for the fact it's an rpg. If you have ever played the first paper mario then you will notice the combat system is very similar.
Again this is not a rant/complaint. I would just like to know if remakes are allowed for future games I might want to work on and submit here.
Edit: The reason and Game Info are copy/pasted from my submissions page, they are not altered in any way.

VX is "not free" but maybe googling it will turn up a download anyway if you know what I mean
Personally I prefer VX as I am using the Melody suite. Do a little research and see what's best for you (I think there's an XP vs. VX article on the site!).
Are you talking about my thread of "XP or Sphere"?
@Exclane
They both can create custom menus and other systems easily if you know how to make/use scripts.
