...And what I have said is that RMVX's RTP is hardly appropriate for any type of serious storyline. This has nothing to do with familiarity. The RTP's high resolution and super deformed features makes it hard for me to say, take a post apocalyptic world very seriously. Even though two of the screens you showed me were from old school games, not even those games had characters with giant heads, tiny bodies and a fairly high resolution... Not to mention the bright colors (I'm sorry, Max; but a 70x4 tint isn't really doing it for me.)

As of late, I've tried to keep my nose out of these affairs, but I feel the need to say something at this juncture. I'm sorry of this is "Derailing".

I have a very big problem with how some people have begun to act in the RM community.
People should be able to express their opinions, unpopular or not without fearing being told to "keep your fucking mouth shut" or told to "shut up, you haven't submitted anything so you don't have the right to talk".

I've, as well as others have missed out on valuable feedback purely because of the nonsense that goes on. I've had one individual PM me harsh feedback because... Well, just read on; I hope he forgives me for quoting him.

These are only snippets, but the rest of his messages had valuable feedback that helped me fix some things that were wrong; but I'm sure you understand by now. Seriously; enough is enough. If you people cant disagree with someone without getting indignant, I should probably just follow SCF's example and just not bother with this community at all.

Now look who's ignoring points. All of your examples are flawed. Your first two screenshots are taken from decidedly "old school" titles, which supports my first point. Your last example is taken from Suikoden 2's world map. A world map sprite that : I remind you : is actually SOMEWHAT to scale. I'm not entirely sure of the background behind this discussion is, but do not confuse my words with Fallen Griever's, please.

I didn't answer this because the VX RTP being cute is the most obvious thing on the freakin' planet. If I had said Mortal Kombat is cute then I might be expected to give a jusitifcation, but if you can't see that the VX RTP is designed to look cute then there is something wrong with you.
