mysteries of rpgmaker?

We all know the rpgmaker is quite an omnipotent, powerful tool for game making. Even without exotic custom scripts, with some creative thinking you can get a lot of stuff done, by using and combining functions the beloved event editor has to offer.

However, do you know what ALL the functions in the event editor do / how to use them?

... well personally, I must admit, I don't. After all these years, I still didn't solve all the mysteries of the RPGmaker event commands. There are still some I just know "kinda" what they do and others, I have no idea / never really used.

But let's hear it from you first - are there commands in the event editor, you always wanted to know what they are for but never came around to ask? ^^
Or do you already know everything and I'm the only one who is perplexed by how to use some of those mysterious buttons.. .__.

Deja~Vu Chronicles Review

Thank you for the review and the beautiful screenshots added.

I had fun reading through it - a few of those things you pointed out we simply missed to change in that last (semi-final) version XD like ->
Though there are recording orbs, save is always on, the orbs are actually used as a plot device (they also allow you to save) to indicate you've made another jump and are ready to try to take out the bad guy at a still earlier temporal point.

Of course, casual safe should be disabled in the final version, otherwise the orbs wouldn't make much sense at all. : )
The information and input is much appreciated tho.
Good thing there is still time and room to make some improvements.

Deja~Vu Chronicles

ah, thought provoking observations and great hints, again thank you very much! : ) i will look into those issues and have them improved / fixed. ; D
thanks so much for checking it out nhubi!
there's also supposed to be 2 endings, depending on how many fragments you collected, but that's also not tested yet ^^ ( it's just a minor thing tho )

No problem. The second one did eventually fix itself when I ran into another dialogue event, but for a while there it was in the way.

edit: I ran into a game breaker. When you are in the final sequence and you've transported back to the finale that green cube is in the way of your progression and since you no longer have the emerald fork or the character that can wield it, you can't progress. In addition when you interact with the green cube you get the original dialogue event about needing an emerald fork to destroy it.

Sorry I can't continue.

ah - well yes and no... : P

maybe i should add an alternate info dialogue to give you a hint at that point but, when you are at this "final" part "again" - you are not really supposed to go up there in the first place : ) it's way too dangerous. sure, you CAN in theory - but - you'd walk forever in circles and it wouldn't progress the story. XD
on that map, you have to find some other place to go this time... : )
and that other place makes the story continue.

The Mysterious Wonderland of Alicia-chan

author=andreasaspenberg
very alice in wonderland like. you should however try to warn people of deathtraps and perhaps add some way to attack the enemies.
hehe thanks for playing andreas! secret tip: you will be able to attack the enemies by pressing the action button - but only while you're in blonde alice mode~! ; D
