Let's work on your game descriptions!

Thank you sweeties! : 3

Yeah, I added the comma, and " With no recollection of his past, he gets to know the mysterious townspeople in their everyday life. " after ' in the middle of the ocean.'

Because you might or might not find out where he's from at the end of the game and the description should maybe not spoiler that, I assume... XD

So let's try a resubmit for now. Testplayers are very welcome, even tho admittedly, this one is more of a personal project. : 3

Let's work on your game descriptions!

Hello there, I'd love you native english speakers to check out my description text this time, because whelp, my english sucks. ; P

this is the text:

"Project Azoth"(Working Title) is a casual but sweet and entertaining little dungeon crawler with a few supporting mini quests and a non-restricting storyline.
You play as a young man named "Hiro", who finds himself in a small, desolate town called "Yonaguni", literally in the middle of the ocean.
After there it seems like there is nothing much left to do in town, Hiro decides to become a "Tower Explorer".
The tower is filled with dangerous monsters - and very hard to conquer. The exact number of floors is unknown, but they all seem to be themed after natural elements.
Hiro can build up relationships with the townspeople / the pretty girls and has to take care of his Elemental-Homunculi.

Azoth is designed to be a game of medium length (maybe 8 hours).
It is inspired by Dungeon Crawlers like "Azure Dreams".
All of this game's visual content is completely original and custom made.

Pixel graphics (sprites / icons / tilesets / HUD and effects ) are made by me. (Nebelstern)
Illustration Art (Character avatars / title screen) by the professional(game-illustration) artist Ninjin Shiru.
Gameplay mechanics (action battle system / script) XAS classic / original
It is a zelda-like action battle system.
Music (various tracks) is borrowed from various games and other sources, that are going to be listed soon.
Sound (all) sounds are sounds from royaltiy free open sources.

Art Principles in Game Graphics: Making Pretty Stuff

Actually, I don't really like " Child of Light " - at least character-design wise... the character looks kinda ugly to me, but that's just my opinion I guess...

The backgrounds on the other hand are, obviously, very professional and well made, even tho a bit pale in comparesion with a game like "Odin Sphere".

Name your maker!

reason (apart from money) for not switching to a newer maker is probably that after using XP for about seven years now, I've finally got somewhat of a feeling for how the program works, and I don't really feel like learning the characteristics of a new maker now. Guess I'll stick with XP 'till the end.

Same here. Ye olde XP.

Games you love but everyone hates.

I didn't know that anyone hated Legend of Legaia, or Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Is this the 'games that everyone actually hates' topic or the 'games that nobody actually hated but nobody bowed down and gave fellatio to' topic?

Maybe they confuse it with " Sonic 2006 " ...

SaGa Frontier. It was universally panned when it came out. Everybody I knew personally was saying "I rented it and it sucked". Maybe it was riding too close to FF7's coattails.
Granted, it has a cult fanbase now.

But then there's SaGa Frontier 2 :D That one's just straight up universally panned except by me.
SaGa Frontier got a lot of stick, but it was one of my favorites during its time of release. I seem to remember SaGa Frontier 2 got a positive reception though--it was a beautiful game and it addressed some of the mechanical problems that 1 suffered from.

I really enjoyed 2, but I felt Gustave's scenario was cut short a bit early, especially compared to the three generations of the Knights family. I saw it through to the end, but I must admit that I lost interest by the time Ginny took center stage. I'll take political intrigue over MacGuffin-hunting any day.

OMG I loved SaGa Frontier 2, also! XD I chose my deviantart- artist-/nickname after a character: "Nebelstern" XD

On PS2 I have much respect for "Rule of Rose" - It's got a bold storyline /setting, AAA art style and is one of the most valuable games in my collection - but I also admit, the gameplay is beyond shitty. XD The worst ever. Those controls and combat... but somehow I'm glad.. i'm sure it helped in making it a "hidden gem" game...
