[Request] RMXP - Metallic Wall Autotile

G'day everyone. I have a rather simple request for an autotile edit for RPG Maker XP: I would like to ask if someone could edit this wall autotile for me to look like it is made of metal (specifically, something like bronze or copper, but not iron) instead of stone.

Thanks a lot in advance.

RMXP: Swap variable values (solved)

Seeing how I am completely inexperienced when it comes to scripting, I need to ask your help with a probably very simple operation: is there a simple script command that allows me to swap the stored values of a larger batch of variables in RPG Maker XP?

An example: I want to swap variables 21 to 30 with variables 41 to 50. So after the operation, variable 21 should have the value that was previously stored in variable 41 and vice versa; variable 22 would become what 42 was before and vice versa; etc. etc.

I know that doing this is possible purely via event commands. But since it would require an enormous amount of those and I would be using this option often, I thought it wouldn't hurt to find an alternative and avoid tedious work and the risk of lags.
If anyone would be able to help me here, I'd be very grateful.

[Poll] Humorous or serious - Which do you prefer?

As we are probably all aware, the overall tone of a game can greatly influence how players percieve, interpret and value it. This is especially true for story- and character-heavy games as well as games with an untypical premise. While some games present themselves in a way that is clearly intended to make you laugh, other games address more serious matters that leave little to no room for comic elements.

Of course, these are only the far ends of the spectrum. There are numerous games that are in fact quite serious but still contain a fair share of humour, too. A good RPG Maker game example for this type would be To the Moon. The main theme of this game is a everything but funny, yet there are a number of scenes designed to amuse the player. Similarly, some games concentrate largely on the aspect of humour but have some seriousness to them as well. In Search of Immortality, for example, is such a game. Its focus lies mostly on odd characters and comic dialogue, but after a while it becomes clear it's not all just fun and games.

Personally, while I do enjoy laughing and joking around, I am in fact a rather serious person. This is why I especially value games that, in addition to being enjoyable to play, make me feel involved and give me something to really think about. My favourite type of game is therefore "serious with some humour" (which is not to say I dislike the other "types", this is just what appeals to me most).

So how about you? What are your preferences when it comes to the overall tone of a game, and why is that so?

RMN Album Vol.1 - Befuddling Tracks

There have been some occasions on the site where people rewrote the lyrics of well-known songs and changed them into something RMN-related. (Recent examples are Liberty's I Need A Misao or Girls Just Wanna Mak Gam, but I know I've seen more.) I thought it would be funny if we collected all these and added some new ones to create our own RMN "Album".
There are only a few rules for adding songs:
- The rewritten lyrics must have something to do with game making and/or RMN.
- The songs used have to be widely known. It's only funny if people are likely to recognize the original and see what you did with the lyrics. Indicate the original song's name and artist to make it easier to recognize.
- If a song is very long or repetitive, or if you struggle to write new lyrics for a certain part, it's okay to leave a part out. This is supposed to be fun, not a pain in the butt.

Now, go forth and mak songs!

I'll start by adding my own attempt:

NeverSilent joined the party

Hello everyone,
I'm NeverSilent, a German student of literary science and English. While I'm far from being a professional game maker, I enjoy using RPG Maker XP for hobby projects (although I'm much less productive than I would like to be).
I've wanted to become more active in the RPG Maker community for some time, and the Misaos voting gave me the final incentive to actually join. I hope I can productively contribute to the site in the future (but be warned, I tend to talk a lot).
Hope to see you around.
