What was the last film you watched?

Just watched Cannibal! The Musical. Good stuff...

halibabica is bad at art

I dig your character designs and placement of speech bubbles, but the layout of your cells is really boring and the writing is pretty sloppy. I don't really get what's supposed to be going on here, but that's probably because I've never played Pokemon; if there's a punchline in there, it's way over my head.

Now I'm gonna have to go dig through all my old sketchbooks and try to find all the dumb little comics I drew...

Who else here thinks Dark Ambient music is awesome?

Nothing says "dark ambience" like a belt sander running along a rubber hose.

Well, this sort of journeys from ambience to rock-the-fuck-out and back to ambience. I love these guys...

What was the last film you watched?

I saw the new Robin Hood movie not too long ago. It was terrible in every aspect.

I'll have to check out The Fountain. I didn't realize Aranofski directed it. I really liked all the movies of his that I've seen (Pi, Requiem, The Wrestler).

Alright; I tweaked the title just a bit.

The shadows from the walls are coming from the wrong direction, aren't they?

This looks really disgusting and overworked imho.

You're absolutely right. I'll add in a few lens flares; that'll fix it O.o

Whats the worst thing you ever saw in high school?

-A friend of mine was killed in a car accident my junior year. His sister (who worked on the school newspaper) wrote up a nice article for him for the paper, but they decided not to put it in because "there wasn't enough room" or some bullshit like that. A few years earlier, a kid that was on the track team died in a pole-vaulting accident and they SHUT THE SCHOOL DOWN for like 2 days because of it. Oh..did I mention my friend was a "stoner" (AKA not-popular).

Anyways, his sister ended up just xeroxing about 100 copies of the article she wrote and a bunch of us plastered them up all over the school, so it wasn't so bad in the end.

-I didn't actually witness this happen, but one kid in our school got all the fingers on one of his hands taken off by a planer or something in shop class. They ended up replacing his fingers with toes; it was kinda creepy looking.

-This one kid came in late to class one time while we had a sub. When the sub started asking him about why he was late, this kid starts acting retarded. It turned out the sub was pretty high up in the commitee for the Special Ed program. Bad move on his part.

-Also, for a while before the end of our last year, my friends and I got into the whole "social experimentation" thing. My favorite was me going around all day with a cardboard box with "kittens" written all over it with a sharpie pen. Inside I had things like tennis balls and wads of duct tape or whatever else I could find (to give it weight and an authentic rustling sound). It was fun seeing people's reactions every time I "accidentally" tripped and sent the kitten box flying across the room; or someone would ask "Aww, are there really kittens in there?" and I would reply "Yep!" as I violently shook the box around.

Stupid stuff from your childhood that nobody else remembers

The Flight of Dragons
The Centaurions
Hologram Time Traveller
This Old House (I don't know why, but I loved that show when I was a kid)
The "tutorial" VHS that came with the board game "Dragon Strike"
David the Gnome
Maya the Bee
Tailspin

Also, there was some anime I remember watching when I was real little, and I've never been able to identify it. I only saw it once, but it really stuck in my mind. I think it might have been a Hayao Miyazaki film (I remember it having that kind of surreal/bizarre fairy-tale flavor to it), but I'm not sure. It was about this girl who's trying to find her family after they and pretty much everybody else gets turned into weird building-block people by some evil sorcerer or somesuch; and they stack themselves on top of each other to build this evil sorcerer's castle. I remember things like the girl going to "the end of the world" and talking to a giant rocking horse, the sorcerer's apprentice who zips around on a flying log, and a goofy-looking mechanical dragon thing that guarded the castle.
