Miserere

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like it has some inspiration from Yume Nikki.

Planning on getting this, once I get internet for my computer again!

Um, are you supposed to be able to get the Elite Classes (Sage, Champion, Joker) by just hitting the up arrow on certain classes when you choose a new character's class?

Not complaining - I like having the options available from the start - but it seems strange that the game doesn't tell you about it.

(Also, is Joker supposed to have no normal attack command? If so, what's the point in giving my Joker a weapon?)

Yes, this was intended to be a secret, but the cat is WAY out f the bag by now...

Also, the joker doesn't have a normal attack, but I think one of his random "goof-off" things is to attack with his equipped weapon. The joker is kind of, well... a joke. At least until later...

Hope I didn't step on your toes, master kentona!

Free mobile RPG for testers!

I'd like to help, but I have a pretty extreme aversion to the company known only as "apple". Make an Android port, and I'm in!

Looks neat though!

Rage of Bahamut

So, if anyone still cares, you can download the app, finish the tutorial, tye in the referral code, register the device (all this means is that you can't create a new account on that device), and then delete the app. That is if you want to help me out.

Just thought I'd add that! Thanks!

You get 2 skills to choose from in normal class and 3 as a Mime.
True and untrue at the same time. Certain skills (Counter, Cover, 2-Sword, etc.) are applied automatically to the character. Therefore, the player is encouraged to choose two skillsets (Magic, Guard, Steal, Etc.) and equipment that fit the character's role in the party. My endgame skills and equipment were as follows:

Bartz
Weapon1: Excalibur/Ragnarok Weapon2: Rune Axe
Armor: Genji Armor Helm: Ribbon Accesory: Wall Ring
Skills: Magic Sword, X-Fight
Using this setup, Bartz was able to do magnificent damage even without Magic Sword due to his Rune Axe, which uses MP to cause critical hits, coupled with his X-Fight ability. Using Magic Sword, he was able to cause extremely high damage with elemental enchantments that can instantly kill even bosses, insta-stat effects with each hit, or even heal himself (which is very useful while he is wearing the Wall Ring).

It's my own opinion that late game characters have the greatest flexibility and strategy next to characters from FFT. Of course, getting to that point has a lot of strategy as well, and offers lots of class/skill combinations.

If your insane like me, you can master every job and just go as a freelancer. Though you still only get to pick two active skills, all the passive skills are applied automatically. I'm not sure is this happens when you master a job or because your a freelancer, but all the stat boosts made my party rather ridiculous.

Granted, there's not much you can do after you get everyone to this point. Both Omega and Shinryu are cakewalks with the right strategy (seriously beat Omega in one round of jumps, by accident... he's super vulnerable to katanas).

Damn, I'm so happy that I'm not the only one! FF VI is by far my favorite of the series. Granted, I love most of them (I still haven't beat III or VIII or played XIII), but VI just stands out in my memory the most. I think I have a similar problem to kenton: it was the first one I played, and I was VERY young and impressionable (probably 8 or 9).

Again, the only reason I started this thread was to see if there were a ton of people that love FF IV. Considering the number of times it was remade and expanded, I thought it would be the most popular by a vast margin.

Also, just to throw some garbage into the mix, my LEAST favorite title was VIII. I know that's blasphemy to some people, but I could never get into it. I only ever got about half way through the second disc, and I always struggled just to get there. I guess I felt like none of the characters were really that relate-able and the whole draw system was really strange...

But, again, I'm super glad that I'm not weird for really loving FF VI (for the record, I completely destroyed it on every platform it was released for; probably beat it several times for each one, too).

Final Fantasy Discovery

Again, I always seem late to these parties! I just looked through all the images and am really stoked to see this thing come together. I am also really nervous about getting invested in following this, because all great games take a REALLY long time to come together...

... but the wait will be worth it I'm sure! Looks great so far!

Man, it's been a while since I sat down and enjoyed this place... one of my true safe havens!

Anyway... I have been playing Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection on my PSP a lot lately, and something struck me: this is the only old school FF title that got a sequel, and it was made over a decade later. Granted, it is a classic and there is an undeniably large fan base, but I am really curious as to why it reached such great popularity.

So, I was curious to see what other people considered their favorite FF game, one that may be deserving of a sequel (if it doesn't already have one), and why it's your favorite. Again, I will wait to post mine, though I will say FF IV is not my favorite.

Man! I don't know why these Let's Play videos capture my attention! I've been watching these all Memorial weekend! I like how you're the more "mellow type" narrator after listening to some people that are just plain nuts (I mean that in a good way)!

Wow Thanks! Actually, you're a first; most people tell me that my voice puts them to sleep (can't say whether or not that's a good thing though...). I appreciate the support!

This has motivated me to get back in the saddle for my other games! Thanks Again!

Tuesday's coming!

Pretty cool, heres hopin my computer can even run D3...I fear I made a big mistake buying it for my crap comp...

It's actually not that demanding. I was worried about the same thing, but my REALLY old card should be able to handle it and then some.
