Hi, I'm OldPat, an italian indie game developer. I'm trying to improve as much as I can, hoping to reach a professional level one day.
I also like to draw a lot and that's another of the fields I'm trying to improve. My English is still a bit bad, so I hope you'll forgive me if I make any mistakes.^^'

[Review Request]

Name: PSYCHE Locke
Link: https://rpgmaker.net/games/10681/
Status: Complete
Genre: Puzzle/Adventure
Estimated length: Approximately one hour
Small description: PSYCHE Locke is a short 2D Puzzle/Adventure game made in two/three weeks. The main theme of PSYCHE Locke is "Yourself", the concept of identity. The game focuses on Locke, a strange being, a "Psyche", who's trying to retrieve his former self and his lost memories. As a Psyche, Locke has the ability to merge his soul with that of other people, manipulating them. The player can merge with, almost, any NPC he encounters during his playthrough. Possessing someone allows the player to do certain things or talk to certain people, helping him progressing through the game.
Special requests: No special request in particular, honest feedback is more than enough^^ I would like to have a thorough review so, if you can, make sure that you finish the game first.

I really liked this game.
The intriguing story, the leveld design and the character.

A little tedious the one save at the start of each level, but... you learn to act more carefully so it will not become frustrating.

Little things to be adjusted, but another good short game from the Afro Guy.

Test! Thank you!
This Afro Guy is really, really glad you liked it.^^

Go, bro, go!

I.. am I the only one desperately wanting to add a Z at the end..?

(Honestly, I was struggling with that too while developing)

It looks very good Pat!

Thank you, Cutie! :3

The Featured Game Thread

sometimes I think you just have to let your game speak for itself.

Eh, I dunno, Guy.
That's not exactly how it works, not always at least, alas.

That's why people invented a very nice but perhaps "invasive" thing called "marketing".

It doesn't matter how good is a game if you don't find a way for it to "get out there" and make "lots of noise".

RMN hosts a thousand of games. I don't think we know each and every one of them. Who knows how many hidden gems we've missed.

If Dyluck is confident and wants to recommend his game I think it's more than okay. It's even highly rated so why not.

I would actually prefer that to have some recognition than an already super duper ultra famous gem that already has plenty of followers.

We have a new generation of game makers that needs to be recognized!

Spotted it on the Feedback channel, but didn't have the chance to give you my thoughts on it.

I think it's a good title screen, not bad at all!
I would've given the moon more "screen". Like, move it in the middle of the title screen, and shift the trees a bit down.
It's more "evocative" than those trees. It deserved to be the main focus, let's say that.

But as I said, still a nice Title Screen, Ark.
Keep up the good work!

Hi There nwn

Welcome to RMN, Thomas!^^
also please tell me where to post the demo when I finish it, I don't know really where to post it)...

You'll have to make a gamepage by going to "Submissions" and "Submit Game". That's where you can upload the game, talk about it and share media and other contents related to it.
There are some rules regarding gamepages.
You can find more info here: https://rpgmaker.net/articles/235/
You should give it a read :)

See ya on the forum!

OIdPat's "Art" topic

author=BluMiu
You're definitely more than improving last time I talked to you, OldPat. Love the line art and implementing expressions :) Detailing has grown, too

I'm really, really glad to know that I'm improving and that it shows. Thank you, BluMiu^^
Hopefully I will not stop and improve even further.

Been working on some stuff lately, manly the storyboards for the cutscenes of KF2, drawing some "comic book styled" cutscenes.
I've redone a photo that showed one of the characters from the game, Stephanie. The original sketch was from 2016. She indeed "grew" a lot since then, I like her better now.

Also, Facebook reminded me of the first ever artwork I made starring Florien Kealborn (the main character from my game, Karma Flow). She used to be an orc with very big hands. xD
So I decided to do a comparison image showing how much she evolved throughout the years. As some sort of morale booster.

Hoping to improve her and all of my characters further in the future.

BluMiu's Art Dump

I really, really like the design of some of this characters. 10/10 would play a game starring them.
This artwork is my favourite so far:

You're really good, BluMiu. Keep 'em coming!
