Gutter-Delve: The Closet Cases
Maybe the reason Ben is an aimless illustrator is because his art personifies every stupid sexualized comic trope when it comes to women.
No, seriously. The art you have for your female cast is infuriating and I'm not even an all out arbiter for women's rights and desexualization in games. It's just that god damn ridiculous. I'm not going to be playing this game, because the art makes me want to be sick. I'm not even sure what to say to you at this point, because it was a consistent theme throughout all your art, but how about not looking at western comic garbage for female poses and inspiration and doing some research into decent, function-able clothing? Hell, sexualize a couple if you must, but when you have an entire cast of females with their nipples, boobs, butts and vaginas clearly outlined I question your maturity and the content this game is going to have. It's not even realistic sexualization. Women don't bend that way, clothing doesn't ride up like that, and unless your game takes place in the Artic nipples aren't always perky. Or visible.
Gah, I'm lost on what to say, really. Look up http://repair-her-armor.tumblr.com/ or http://thehawkeyeinitiative.com/ and just think about what kind of art and stereotypes you're continuing by drawing in this way. If you're aiming for a RM* playerbase, a check over the most popular games will show that an enormous amount are made by female developers. You are cutting off every female who might have even had a smidgen of interest via drawing like you've never seen a real woman in your life.
And I can tell you right now most of your excuses, including artistic license/freedom, I can draw what I want, it fits their character, etc, etc, etc, etc, are a load of bologna and you know it. I really doubt Amy actually wants to have her vagina clearly outlined. Just imagine wearing a latex sock over your dick, in public. Just fucking imagine that for two seconds.
Sexualize certain characters if you like. Hell, I do! I like drawing guys with their shirts off, and I caused quite a stir because his fly was unzipped. GASP. But when it's every single character, in the most ridiculous of poses, with their anatomy completely skewed, as an actual character design, it becomes not something for visual enjoyment or interest but a visual representation of misogyny and your failure to consider your female characters as people.

It's actually not something I'm well practiced in, so I've been pleasantly surprised by how well the tiles have been turning out. As for Squall's outline..I think it's because he's not affected by the screen's tint in this one (this graphic is a picture because screw trying to position a character set like that one). I'll add the tint next time I get a chance and see how that looks.

Squall's "Mr. All-Sensitive" now?
1. He's thinking this
2. He cares and worries a lot.
In fact, the essence of this scene was inspired by inward musing on the bridge to Esthar, the other time Squall went walkabout and didn't tell anyone what he was doing.
