QUIGON'S PROFILE
I'm Mark, and I'm all about Lynchian-surrealist horror with Lovecraftian eldtritch abominations sprinkled on top, all served with a nice hot dose of build-your-own-follow-the-breadcrumbs-your-way kinda stories. My game might be pretty good, if I ever finish it.

Trying to figure out how to make 'run away and hide' encounters like Amnesia is SO HARD.
Trying to figure out how to make 'run away and hide' encounters like Amnesia is SO HARD.
i'll make sure to do that, along with adding a spotlight over the player at all times, with the tint set to -255, -255, -50, 255, and a plug and play light effects script and I will reel in all the currencies.

probably because it's really difficult to create a credible feeling of pursuit when the player is looking at things in the third person?
and therefore can know automatically if something is within a certain distance of the player character?
(and probably because rpg maker is also really weak when it comes to movement and so on?)
nailed it.
(at least I'm not making a slenderman game though)

I think as long as you add modern conveniences or whatnot the mountain, people will get the ideas. So like signs saying where an exit is, signs with tidbits about the mountain (if it's a tourist attraction) etc. And don't forget, when your characters talk, they'll prolly use modern slang or whatnot depending and so people will get the idea I think.
Ooh, good idea! Sign posts and stuff is a nifty trick, I'll probably do something like that.

And actually, this mountain in particular is like a tourist attraction - a really old, old prison. They built a new one just around it. So I guess it could work...
Same goes with the tipis, they're just part of an American-Indian reservation in a park. Though I wanna be careful with that and get my facts right and not be all 'LOL TIPIS RIGHT HAHA' as to avoid potential discomfort/racism/historical innacuracy, aha.

Well the kind of dream-like atmos is what I'm going for anyway, but I feel like it'll contrast too strangely when you get out of there and you find yourself in streets with cars in them.
...or maybe I should just use that uncomfortable contrast, hrm.

Portraits you say? 8D (edit: well you said faceset...)
:D
I'm kinda in a pickle right now guys, mostly concerning the mountainny looking maps. This game is really meant to be in a modern day setting now, and I have a feeling the mountains just look a little *too* fantasy-esque. I'm considering remapping it into a normal prison.

I've been wanting to play this for a while now! I hope it's up soon! >:|
Thanks! I'm waiting for some spare money to present itself to me so I can possibly get commissioning someone to do some facesets/sprites. While it might mean a few tile edits here and there, the chibis just aren't really fitting for the game I think.
(and you can check out the gameplay vid if you want to see that for yourself, haha)
