Like, okay, I guess I'll say something.

I'm sort of conflicted here. On one hand, members who have been here for a while (or haven't!) should always be respectful of one another, newbies or no. It's really no fun joining a site for the first time, asking for help, and getting dicked (or 'shitted on', as TFT said, which made me chuckle. Thanks dude.) The last thing I want to promote or encourage is a 'cliquish' attitude because a new user doesn't know much about the rules of the trade as well as we do; "Hahah, look at this guy. He doesn't even know the three tile rule. Let's TP his house". If someone is really new to the scene, they may not know that someone making entire tilesets for them is pretty much a faux pas as far as asking goes. However that's an innocent thing to not know, because that unsaid rule doesn't apply to a lot of other things, like character sets, or entire soundtracks for some of us!

In retrospect the most mature thing to do would be to simply correct him, tell him how it is, and see how he responds. In that respect, Aten's response, especially since it was the VERY FIRST response and likely the very first time someone in the community has ever addressed him directly, was kind of out of line!

HOWEVER, on the other end of the spectrum, stupidity is hilarious, and while I won't say it DESERVES to be ridiculed, well...TC's comma defense was pretty funny. Basically, if someone is just flat out stupid and not only doesn't know, but doesn't care to know and doesn't care about not knowing, well, there's pretty much what's coming to them. Not knowing is one thing, but it's hard to sympathize to a thicko.

My overall response to this topic is that this guy's reception could have been a lot warmer, and the proper thing to do was just to tell him the ropes and see what he says from there.
Thanks, I will make a new topic on basically the same request, however with more detail, and just for the record, I didn't expect someone to make ALL the tiles, just a few that I can't get, or...well...ect. ect. XD

Might I humbly suggest that you utilize your English skills when communicating with us, then? Writing in a proper, comprehensible manner goes a long way to improving your image (and in this case, repairing it). As a side-effect, it gives us an easier time reading what you have to say as well.
Well, it I am still used to a comma without a space. And my sentences generally "drag on" but I suppose I will change that. (rather change a little quirk then be ridiculed.)

The comma thing I don't really care about, that's your quirk. But man, your sentences run on like crazy. Please don't do that in your game dialogue.
lolz,I know they, your not the first one to say that :P but in scripts and stuff,I am very careful to have that in the latest grammar, aka spaces after commas, periods, ect. ect.,I am not new to dialog,I have written 3 of my schools plays,so I a sure that dialog is no problem ^-^ (in very good mood right now...but why I do not know, but now that I have read all the stickies,I hope that I don't get bashed anymore.)

asking for help in a request forum and getting shitted on is ridiculous.
We'd all be glad to help a guy in need of help assuming he didn't fail his English classes (excepting non-native speakers/disabled people), didn't sound like he was an arrogant moron by saying that spaces after commas were "un needed" and that grammar could go to hell, and actually helped himself first by using Google.

tl;dr: He called the shitstorm on himself.
I did google, but what I found was either not what I was looking for,or crappy as hell, and sorry for being new to this, you can't expect everyone to just know how things work, and who says I'm not native or disabled, for all you know I could be mental

I have no idea why im part of this site. You're all assholes and its pathetic. Just thought I'd let you all in on that thought.
Your right,I mean,my friend told me that the community was a lot nicer on here then on RPG revolution, but from the looks of it,you only respect people that have made a game, which isn't cool.

Ok. I'll help you by telling you this first. No one here is going to draw tilesets for you. You don't have any credibility. You don't have any experience, and you don't have any previous games to show that you have the commitment to pull this off. To get someone to help you you have to show your current work. And then people will judge if they want to help you based on what you show.

And the reason for my first comment is because you type like a first grader. There are supposed to SPACES after every comma.

Okay,I understand on the credibility thing, but spaces after every coma is an un needed rule,it wasn't always a rule, and I do not abide by it mainly because I have written and typed without spaces after my comas for as long as I've written and typed,so I will again, not abide by that rule, but thank you for the help, but if there are websites that already have tilesets on them, would it really be too hard to copy and paste a link?
