RAMZA'S PROFILE

I've spent a large part of my 26 years designing video games, mostly in my head. When I discovered RPG Maker 2000, I finally had a medium to put my thoughts down into, and I did.

At the time of its release, Mana Conquest was massive - even a ten hour long game was insane in those days, and the graphics kind of sucking was generally overlooked, due to the scope of the project.

Several years since, and I'm a bit embarrassed concerning how bad the first game really was. I've tried to fix that in the sequel, but between when I started, and now, there have been three new RPG Makers, and since they don't allow backwards compatibility, I've been stuck on RM2k3. Shameful.

I've come too far to quit now, though.

I also created a small puzzle that moves blocks across great distances, and then moves back. Problem is, Rm2k3 will execute the next MOVE EVENT command before the first one is finished, as I'm sure you're all aware. So I used a loop that breaks upon a switch being turned ON, which turns on when the square has moved it's entire distance, so I don't have to time how long it takes for the block to move across the map with "Wait"s. After the loop breaks, it moves back.
It's a simple, small little thing, but I felt proud for figuring it out. Shut up.
I hear the "proceed with movement" command makes an event halt until the last move event in it finishes. Check it out, bro.
I hear the "proceed with movement" command makes your game freeze every time you try to open a box or door (i.e. every time it targets "This Object"). Go 2k3.

I have never had that happen.

Mana Conquest Review

I appreciate the review, sbester.
I believe I will reinstall rm2k in the near future to address a couple of these issues, at the very least, the horrible quiz minigame. It seemed like a good way to get people to pay attention to the dialogue, back in the day, but in retrospect, even I would find it too annoying to continue playing if I didn't finish it in one or two tries.

...Record of the Agarest War...
Oh, shit dude, I couldn't get past the first little battle they had you do simply because I was like, "lolwut how the fuck do I fight? Where's the attack command?"

Now you know me and I don't mind naked anime chicks or whatever but give me a battle system I can understand. If not that, then at least EXPLAIN to me how to use the damn system.

=V

I didn't find it all that difficult =/

Sai Plays Your Games

considering he kind of got stuck in one of my early minigames, I'll concede that I probably would have stopped playing if I'd been stuck there as well.
But had he not been stuck in the minigame, within the two hour limit, he'd have seen a number of the things he mentioned as being shitty about the battle system being remedied as the game went on (skills, magic eventually, extra PCs, etc). But, whatever.

Grandia II was kind of easy, and Grandia xTreme was really boring despite having Mark Hamil as a main hero voice actor. IMDB has it backwards, if you've played the actual game you can recognize him right away when Evann yells.

I had grandia x-treme and I couldn't stand to play it, regardless of who it's voice actors were.

What is the exact organization and hierarchy of the site's staff?

Well Ramza, not sure if you noticed this but his name isn't blue.

Yes, but if he was a secret staff member with the single purpose of making the other staff members look good, then it'd make sense to give him a staff rank that uses the normal member color!

I am of course, just messing around now, mind you.

I don't know if Ramza is even aware that I was staff here, lol.

You're right, I didn't know that!

This is a huge internal conspiracy.

What are other major sites in the RM Community?

Blade2k but it's pretty dead right now.

What is the exact organization and hierarchy of the site's staff?

kentona, you forgot max's secret staff role:
Guy who acts like a douchebag normal member to stir up shit to make the other staff members look good.

:D
