RAMZA'S PROFILE
I've spent a large part of my 26 years designing video games, mostly in my head. When I discovered RPG Maker 2000, I finally had a medium to put my thoughts down into, and I did.
At the time of its release, Mana Conquest was massive - even a ten hour long game was insane in those days, and the graphics kind of sucking was generally overlooked, due to the scope of the project.
Several years since, and I'm a bit embarrassed concerning how bad the first game really was. I've tried to fix that in the sequel, but between when I started, and now, there have been three new RPG Makers, and since they don't allow backwards compatibility, I've been stuck on RM2k3. Shameful.
I've come too far to quit now, though.

Send Me In Coach! Review Event
there's mine. This was the only thing in the list that had a download. This would be my first review on the site too. heh.
To protect or not to protect, that is the question!
the only reason I would protect the game is to stop people from test playing it in the editor, skipping through text and avoiding enemies, I'd like to make sure everyone is getting everything out of the game that I put into it.
Also, to a lesser extent, peeking in the database to read common events, or information about PCs who were in the database but not in the demo. This one is lesser, however, it's nice to know that some people are intrigued enough to get as much info about the game as possible from it.
But I don't write protect my game because then people would complain about it. RPGVirtuoso was complaining about it before I even thought about doing it this time.

Lux Licentia
It's a pity the game was so short, I would have kept playing it for hours if it hadn't ended so soon.
It's a lot of fun, maybe a teensy bit too easy, but that's not something that needs to be fixed. Maybe a hard mode or something perhaps.

yeah well to be fair, if social skills were my thing I probably wouldn't be on the internet so much. Introductions and small talk are just not my thing.
touché.
Game Pet Peeves
Speaking of the psp remake, they fixed that

thing. clearly they knew it was an issue, but didn't bother to fix the slow downs on visual effects that tinted the screen. shame really, I tried to love that remake. It had so many redeeming qualities. Even they realized they shot themselves in the foot when they released the ps1 FFT on the psn.

What are you working on now?
DOING IT! ~ WEEK ONE
Kiras the Greedy
Leader of a small bandit outpost in the Meridian Desert, which for the past while at least has been focusing on stealing a cat from a little orphan boy in the nearby town of Damsil. What could they possibly want with a little orphan boy's cat, no one is sure.
HP - 8000
High attack and speed value, may get two turns to a hero's one.
No weaknesses to melee or ranged damage.
Strategy:
Kiras will call in a weaker bandit every couple of turns, while individually the bandits he summons will pose little risk, if he summons enough of them, you will be overrun. Towards the end of the fight, Kiras will use a powerful physical skill called 'Vaccuum Render' which is designed to be strong enough to nearly kill it's target. He won't use it twice in a row. If he has summoned all of his bandits, and they are all still alive, he will proceed to increase his own attack power which will be a disaster.
I'm not really at a point where creating monsters is the focus, maybe I'll do better on next weeks.

Oh sure, SSI used to make all the Dungeons and Dragons computer games. Countless adventures that really all looked the same, but they were the front runner to the strategy RPGs you see so much of now. They used to be called "Gold Box," at least as slang, because all their D&D packaging was the same color. Looks like they made Buck stand out from the pack.
These are all things I discovered from wikipedia when I was bored at work. XD
At the time I didn't know anything about D&D, or gold box. Or even wat 540kb of ram was, or why I didn't have it. I was like 6 or 7 years old, at the time (and by that time, the game was pretty dated, as was my computer)

I'm right there with you on King's Quest, and might humbly add the Quest For Glory series. And that first game even *had* a graphic remake, to address this very issue. It was just years ago and raised it from 16 colors to 256. :D
someone at work gave me a dvd that had dosbox and all of the old sierra adventure games on it. I had never played quest for glory before that, I must say, it was quite fun.
