That just creates a lot of tension, because first, any item you get might be blessed (good) or cursed (welds to your body and cannot be taken off unless you get some holy water or unicorn horn, I think). That is obviously punishing even if the item is otherwise innocuous

Yeah I never got why game devs do the whole cursed equipment thing. That just punishes experimentation which isn't fun. And I think games should tell the player what an item does though some amount of mystery is alright.
Anyway I got a poor man's phone so I couldn't play that game but it was interesting to read your thoughts on it.

I found an African Kpinga in BOTW specifically in the Last Dungeon. It's a very dangerous throwing weapon from Central Africa. In Zelda they call it a boomerang probably just to make it less confusing to the average person.


The weapon came in different styles you can see one similar to the Zelda one in the center of this image.

Neat art style reminds me of Saga Frontier II :)

Well unfortunately, the game still hasn't had a full play test.
Right now I'm kinda conflicted. On one hand I feel like I got a great game demo to share with everyone right now and could just release it as is especially since its still just a demo which could be improved more later. On the other hand, a play test could certainly be a good thing since historically, what I find easy and simple is often difficult and complex to others so I acknowledge that and that's why I appreciate playtests from other people.

I really wanted to release the demo on Black History Month but considering it may just get lost in all the games being released for this recent RMN contest, maybe I should wait. Maybe I should just continue to wait and continue asking people to play test.
Perhaps I'll just promote my other finished game during Black History Month but I really wanted to show everyone the new game. Oh well.

What do you think, should I just release the new demo or just wait longer?

Edit: Another reason I wanted to release it this month is Zelda Breath of the Wild will be coming out soon and that would mean that many players may be too busy playing Zelda next month to bother with anything else.
