RMN3 Changes (EVERYONE READ)
As a casual/non-primary resident of this community, I am quite excited to see how this will work out to be honest, and would like to give my compliments to its innovation. However, I can certainly see why those whose projects are home-based on here would be nervous, as it is somewhat of a gamble as mentioned.
Hopefully for the better though, and I think the best outcome for it would be an unique advantage of this community over other RM/game dev forums. The most vital part would probably be the process of convincing people to use it, and market it/make the system known.

Screw this Euro vs. Non-Euro thing, I'm curious to see the good Japanese games made with RM since I haven't came across many due to the language/community barrier - after all it's their program so there must be at least a decent base of some sort.
But cheesus, what a derail.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

@Rei-:
Looking great! Love the sound effects as well. Only thing I would've liked in addition was some perspective movement on the panorama, but if I remember correctly panos are static in 2k3 so there's not much can be done about that.
@Skie:
Seems to flow very well, and nice animations. I think the flashes get a bit too frequent/strong, though, and would probably become annoy in the long run. Lowering the opacity of the flashes should keep the effect and remove the defect.

Midi's Versus MP3s
author=G-Flex link=topic=2790.msg53097#msg53097 date=1230703610Midi sounds vary from computer to computer depending on their soundcard, so that's another problem.
Even a high-quality MIDI uses whichever instrument generation mechanism exists on the user's sound card, though, so no matter how well you compose the thing, the guy's General MIDI Violin is going to still sound like a General MIDI Violin.
I'm guessing by MP3 here it implies OGGs as well. It kinda depends on the game type and graphics etc. imo - sometimes mp3 music can be over-epic for the medium. Although that does depend on the actual composition beyond just sound type/quality too.

At the very least I have to give props to the creator for releasing all of these ridiculously gorgeous visuals completely open source, which is basically the same as saying "public domain" considering what a community of vultures and hyenas we are when it comes to resource scavenging, myself included.

Do You Remember My Lullaby
Hm, I do not believe that it is a matter of masculine/feminine as much as it is about realistic scenarios and genre pace - It is simply a matter of a story about a calm real-life circumstance; that of which many people resort to media to escape from in the first place.

Heheh that's fine, I can understand that. And my apologies again for not taking more care in taking precautions in that aspect. But I hope you read my response and explanation for the cause.
